The Oil thing was always the "cherry on top" from Salmond and Sturgeon, but some will like your illusion better.
The oil price was Salmond's perceived window of opportunity. People don't harbour life long ambitions without at least one attempt in their lifetime. Neatly taking a backward step avoids undue reflection on the matter.0 -

Cameron said it was for the people of Scotland to decide then when they looked like they may lose the heavyweights came running up like love sick puppies chasing their loved one who isn't interested any more. They also presented project fear as it is human nature to stick with what you know.
I'd say more than half want independence but it's getting them to commit when Westminster play it's mind games and manipulation.
That is more than a few fanatics!

The Scottish people did decide.:T
I was referring to the few fanatics on 300 years time.
Cherry my bu##ocks, Salmon was perched on a half empty oil barreland he kept on about how full it was right up to the referendum. The excuses came afterwards.Union, not Disunion

It is a bit rich when some of the Nats use the "nasty party" term for they are the true nasty party and always have been. Only in recent years under Salmond and Sturgeon have they hidden their true colours and tried to put on a respectable political party face for the gullible to follow. As a non-Scot living here for over 25 years both myself and my family have many times felt the bile and hatred of the English dished out by card carrying badge wearing SNP supporters, some holding official party positions. The true SNP is still out there waiting to come back to the fore once they achieve their one and only goal. Wake up and smell the coffee, don't let them get their way.0

Well said.
Definitely exists, despite what the propaganda goons here would have you believe.0 -

Thanks, that was interesting. I found the following also on exactly the same subject. It gives some details and is worth reading.

Hmmm I read it yesterday. But his focus groups are missing out the two largest groups of voters ( ie anyone SNP/Yes and/or a Remain voter ).those who voted No to Scottish independence in 2014, Labour or Liberal Democrat in 2015, and who were undecided what to do this time round; and those who voted SNP at the last general election and to leave the EU in last year’s referendum.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Is that really all you have left ? Name calling, infantile crap about 'nasty' parties and the usual unbacked up Anti-English anecdotes. Oh dear, the union really is in trouble if this is the best you have to sell the continuance of the UK with.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

All very strange groups to be focusing on in the run up to a general election dominated by Brexit and Indy. Do you not agree ?
No because a purpose of that analysis is to examine why people may be changing their votes; so quoting the whole of the opening paragraph;
"This week’s general election focus group report comes from two Scottish seats which fell to the SNP in 2015 but could be competitive on 8 June: Edinburgh South West, and Aberdeen South. In each seat we spoke to two types of people: those who voted no to Scottish independence in 2014, Labour or Liberal Democrat in 2015, and who were undecided what to do this time round; and those who voted SNP at the last general election and to leave the EU in last year’s referendum."Union, not Disunion
