  • Hello!

I am around but have very bad internet right now. The leak I had been reporting for 2 years (and was ignored everytime) finally resulted in our bedroom ceiling crashing down followed by gallons of water. We have been in a hotel for 10 days, we lost a lot of stuff to water damage including the bed. No idea when we will get back home. I am coping is probably the best way to put it.

Hope all are well, see you all soon! :)

WaS:eek: You could have both been killed! so glad you are both ok and you are managing to cope in the hotel. Will the landlord pay for your bed ect? It is the least he can do.
  • Yes, hoping you have brilliant insurance. Stupid stupid LL - presumably the same leak was the one feeding the bathroom mushrooms. Here's hoping you will get a whole lot of new shiny stuff. If you need any help pursuing this legally (I mean filling forms - sorry to mention the dreaded phrase - I'm not a legal expert but would enjoy the form filling for this!) and stuff, you know where to come.

Torry - so glad it sounds as if people are rallying round. xxxx

  • Hugs to Torry, and  to WaS.

I had a busy weekend, was a friend's birthday and she had various things planned in the afternoon and evening. Since it was in London so I was necessarily coming a long way, I signed up for them all :rotfl:. Meant a long day, but it was really nice, the colleagues she invited from her workplace are all lovely, but of course I did my normal thing when there are lots of people, especially new people, which was clam up and say very little :o . I'm also finding I have to go right up to the maximum cocodamol dose to be able to sleep with the pain from this trapped nerve, and the tiredness is making me  , which I don't like.

My friend with BPD is being made homeless in a couple of months, her landlady is letting the flat go (council flat) and moving in with her partner, so there's a lot of stress there - she's self employed, on very low income and bankrupt, so finding somewhere else is going to be hard I think. Fortunately it sounds like her MH support worker is going all hands to the pumps trying to help, knows who to apply to and has been filling in forms left right and centre. I've offered to help with the practical things like actually moving her belongings (she doesn't drive so that would present a challenge using the bus), but know nothing of rentals in London so am no help with actually finding somewhere.

The notice is in the paper tonight. So hard to see it written down. Got a black pair of trousers and top to wear for the funeral, feels surreal.
