    I've been Money Tipped!
I forgot about the log, and yes hard flooring is outright banned but I can foresee a sob story to council about having young children and working long hours.

Only ever spoken to the woman who instantly went on the defence that time months ago when I politely talked to her telling me it can't be her, and they wear slippers indoors at all times (a lie as they don't at least when they first come in)

It has calmed down now but again the durations are getting longer I assume as its close to Christmas, instead of just after 3 the noise getting loud, with 2-3 some hustle and bustle which is annoying but tolerable its full on crashing and banging from 2pm- at least 5pm daily and of course at weekends (especially Sunday which I assume is Church day)

It is sad however silent it is at night from about 10pm onwards I have to put up with the noise at daytime, I only tolerated it till now because I can get a good nights sleep and worried if I move I will have neighbours that are loud all night.

Don't worry about what might happen if you move. The first thing you really should do is speak to someone at the HA/Housing Office, and get some advice.

  • Sitting in bed very stressed, my son called me an hour ago and said he'd been hit by a car at about 6pm and while he was lying in the road the car had driven over his leg. He sent me a pic and his ankle was massively swollen. He hadn't gone to hospital or reported it to the police. I told him to go immediately to A&E and to call me after. I'm sitting here waiting, and stressing, and I can't keep myself occupied.

I'm also livid that someone could do that and drive off, I'm so angry.

Why did he not call the police or an ambulance?
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...
  • Why did he not call the police or an ambulance?

Because that's typical him. A van driver saw it all and stopped and ask if he was ok, and DS said yes and hobbled home. As soon as his housemates saw his foot they offered to drive home to hospital but he said he'd leave it until tomorrow. He didn't tell me until hours after it happened and I insisted he went to hospital. He has really social anxiety and doesn't like making a fuss. The hospital have X-rayed him and say it isn't broken (I'm amazed considering how swollen it is) and have sent him home with strong painkillers.
He still hasn't reported it because he doesn't know the license plate and it's a residential street with no cameras so he doesn't see the point!
  • Now I think about it I think he was in shock. When I spoke to him he was saying his bread had got squashed (he was coming back with his food shopping when it happened) which is really not an important thing when you've been hit by a car

    Poor fella.

You should phone 101 and see what advice they could give you. Even if they couldn't prove the car on the accident, they may be able to get it on something else as it probably is stolen, overlimit etc. At least they could have a look out for something strange. It did ought to be reported.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Tried speaking to people upstairs and was blanked, did phone coucil to enquire and was just told even though laminate is banned/requires councils permission they have no power to force them to remove it and its just mediation and the neighbour can refuse.

Been constant noise for past 2 hours here, creaking (which isn't the loudest noise) screaming kids running about the whole flat.

I've just driven down to his uni and bought him back. He's had to miss a class today that was part of his grade so I've said definitely report it so he can give his tutor the police incident number, hospital detail and photo so he is excused that part of the coursework and won't lose the points. The swelling is still fairly bad but better that yesterday so that's good, but I'm glad he's home so I can feed him up properly and make sure he gets plenty of rest.
