Continuing penguin about my sons landlord
we got a text last night from son saying landlord had called them all in for a meeting and said that some one had complained to some housing association or something about the condition of the house and they were coming to inspect the property on Friday, and he was "going to try and find out who and do something about it because no one pulls one over on him" DH and I are very worried and don't know what to do. DH suggested DS contact the student letting agency but I don't know if it makes things worse. We couldn't sleep last night and ended up sitting downstairs until 4am. My dad said he should keep his head down and hope it blows over. I don't know what to do, I worry the landlord is a nut job but we don't want to make it worse for DS.

Weird thing.
After all the too-ing and fro-ing to the doctor, I received a letter asking me to come in and bring the letter with me.
So I did.
I recently had a hearing test and I reported unilateral tinnitus. I have been referred to yet another specialist because unilateral anything is not good.
I don't want to keep bothering the doctor and I feel I'm haunting the place.
I won't hear anything for weeks. I'll have forgotten by the time the appointment comes through. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Dandy, that sounds horrible
To be honest, I think it might be a good idea to ring the student accommodation people and ask to speak to whoever's in charge, and then say you're speaking to them in strictest confidence, as you don't know what the landlord would do if he finds out.
Anyway, it might have been a previous tenant, mightn't it? (Iyswim).(I just lurve spiders!)

Dandy, that sounds awful.
Hopefully the inspection will go well on Friday and I wouldn't have thought that any housing association would be allowed to tell the landlord who'd reported any problems.
GN, don't worry about bothering the doctor. If there are things which mean you need to see them then it's better to camp out there than ignore issues and hope they'll go away. Hopefully you won't have too long to wait for your follow-up about the tinnitus.0 -

No MU, it is not bad. It is a Good Thing. I took Mr. Tips, my PG Tips monkey to my PIP interview. Pop your favourite kitty in your handbag tomorrow. We are all with you too. I hope you don't mind but I am going to PM you a couple of tips about tomorrow.
EDIT: Ook, you have no space for PMs.
Dandy, try not to worry too much, from the sound of things, DS's LL knows full well that he is in the scheisse! If you were confident that your house would pass muster, you wouldn't give two hoots about being reported would you? I second what Pyxis says about giving them a ring.0 -
thabk you, i;ll make space for PMs xxThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

MU, I can see you've logged out but just in case you check back in again.
If you need someone to talk to right now, as well as Samaritans there is also the Saneline helpline.
0300 304 7000 from 4:30pm - 10:30pm every evening
As a last resort you can also phone to postpone the DWP medical. It's not ideal because they can refer back to DWP if they don't think you have a valid reason, but if you really need to and if you can get a fit note from the GP then maybe trying to arrange for a time when you've got support might help to stop the panic from kicking in.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

((((( MU )))))
I'm sorry that I have no practical advice but I hope that all goes okay today.0
