I'm very jealous, Ono. A campervan is on my wish list, although unlikely to ever happen. Enjoy your day.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Penguin. Sorry.
I've withdrawn from my GCSE Maths course.
The mocks were a disaster and the first exam is in three weeks time.
A painful house refurbishment and changing to a day shift job have taken their toll and I wasn't able to bring myself to work as hard as I should have done on the work at home.
I was not impressed by the teaching and was expected to cover a lot of different subjucts off my own bat. The class work was for the foundation and the higher students had to cover the extra work at home.
Sines, cosines and surds were among the topics not covered in class but we were expected to learn elsewhere.
It's just hit me as I was deleting classes and exams off my calendar. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Friend sent me this link to a C4 programme about autism which has a 5 minute "How autistic are you" test on it, the data from which is being used anonymously by Cambridge university (if you give consent). It gives a result at the end out of 10 and high scores indicate an autism diagnosis is more likely. Finaly page shows a scale and I scored 9 (looks like about 9.4 where the arrow is on the scale), average male score is about 3.1 and average autistic male score is about 7.8. Not going to seek a diagnosis though, because what would that achieve? I've made it this far and I'll still be me at the end of it.

Interesting link. I scored 5, though to be honest the answer to most of those questions was 'it depends..'
Think of a diagnosis in terms of the carpet repair analogy.
If you fall down the stairs it helps if you can go back and see what the problem was that caused it (loose carpet that needs nailing down) so that you can fix the problem (Buy more carpet, fix the carpet, use different stairwell).
Diagnosing the problem in order that you can sit there fuming about the quality of the carpet, or the carpet-fitter, or generally feel sorry for yourself and your injuries caused by the fall, would not be beneficial. It is not because things are difficult that we dare not venture

Sorry to hear that GN, but with the exams this close and everything else you have going on it sounds like leaving it, at least until youare able to dedicate more time to study, is a wise idea. They should have taught you the trigonometry though, that's something that really benefits from a classroom explanation, drawing example triangles on the board helps make it a lot clearer (I think).Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

Hi guys, went to the house on sat, all the valuables were gone, I was devo as my grandmothers amethyst crystals that she knew i desperately wanted, along with 2 yoga books she wrote, and all 22 of my dad's books he wrote.I've brought back all the photos to piece together my childhood.I found some disturbing books in german hidden in a secret compartment, won't go into it but pretty traumatised. The fact they were in german was worse as my other abuser was her german cousin. I will never go back to that house again, thank goodness. Really not feeling too good at all, very flashbacky and triggered and harrowed.
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0 -
Aw, look at that little face. Cute, anxious and annoying all in one fell swoop.
GN doesn't sound like great teaching to me - I missed the basics of trigonometry in school and really struggled to catch up - some things you need to be shown to avoid the brain fog. Don't beat yourself up about it, there'll be another chance.
Heads up for tomorrow's Horizon programme on BBC, about people living day to day with voices, hallucinations and paranoia and the influences that may have triggered them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Sorry faerie, didn't want to read and run. I can't penguin on my tablet, so I'll just say it's over now, you've done it, and although you've not got the things you wanted that's one more hard thing to face that's now out of the way. I'm sorry it's made you feel bad.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
