  • I am alive! hugs and handshakes to everyone!

I have a severe UTI, it is not pleasant or fun. It has triggered a lot of confusion and psychosis. I am now taking antibiotics however and should be back to normal and back here soon. I miss you all!

  • Thank you, HBS! I have barely any control of my bladder, my pee hurts and it's pink! I am having to use incontinence pads which is a nightmare. I am also sleepwalking, getting incredibly anxious and forgetting everything plus I have a constant fever and everything aches. All apparently quite normal for what I have, Did I mention I am also feeling sorry for myself?

I will be in the Fort curled up in corner, throw chocolate at me!

Hello all. Hope you are feeling better if the antibiotics have kicked in. I have been in bed for a few days with a bug that littlewing also has had, but the sun is out again and I am back at work.

Feel sad that my long term friend is moving 3 hours away, and had some terrible news about a friend of DS.

Have been involved in 2 different research projects for mh in the last fortnight. Feels good to be advancing science, plus got some expenses. Got another couple to do when I can fit them in. (Bittersweet though as it sometimes brings up feelings that I had put on hold).

I am looking forward to Easter for some reason this year. Not that I am religious. Just need the celebration of spring. Plus I will clear some space in the house when the Easter eggs are gone. (My parents thought Eggs were a waste of money so I always buy them myself now - with preplanning they can be better value for money than sweets).

MU - I've worked in Occ Health and am always happy to answer any questions if that would help. Feel free to contact me (or ignore - either is fine :D) I know it can seem scary and judgemental, but I really would like to reassure you that in my experience, the occ health team really are there to help.

Code - hope all's ok with your dad and that work is going ok too. Hopefully you'll be able to speak to your manager so they know what you're dealing with.

Ono - any news on your mum?

WaS and Pyxis - thinking of you my lovelies xx
Izadora, don;t think i have any way of appealing it. In our pkce its called "coaching and counselling", if you get three then its a proper verbal warning, then written then dismissal. I can't now be off sick for another 6 months otherwise i get C+C'd again

ono, i nevergot given the option of a rep (though i'm not in the union, need to look into joining it) or have a collegue present. Was just me and my manager. Its annoying as realistivally i could have taken these past few weeks off on sick leaveand been paid for it, bit i tried to do the right thing cos we are shirt staffed and go in anyway. If i'd had the whole period off sick i wouldn't have been C+C'd which annoys me

atually tea i will take you up on that offer. haven;t as yet got the eeting with occ health but do you know if i need a fot note to back up my not working more than 6 hours? Ithink my GP will do it but in case they don;t where do i stand? I know personally that more than 6 hours triggers bad reactions in mmy moods (either making me suicidally depressed or euphoically hypermanic). My manager siad it wouldn;t be a problem but my area manager is a bit scary and i want to be prepared. I;m asking doc next week to be referred back to MH services. I need to know if i will be able to have time off for appointments (as with CMHT you get given them and dont choose when) and whether if i need time off to adjust to my medication changing whther thats a reasonbale adjustment (not saying ts the same in severity but if i had cancer i think theyd allow time off for treatment)

need to catch up on rest of thread, thanks for the replies have lots to think about

welcome back WaS, sorry you're not having a good time right now (pink pee???) sending lots of hugs and squishes (and lots of chocolate into the fort)

I managed to break my laptop screen the day before last. Accidentally lent on it :o thankfully for £85 its been replaced and fixed! Could have done without having to fork out for itbut its cheaper than a new laprop i guess!

Any wrestling fans about? Its Wrestlemania on sunday. Have missed smackdown the past 2 weeks cos me and swain are idiots and forgot to record it :P

    also need opinions on something

Swain, typucally dresses in joggers and a t shirt, sometimes a polo shirt. This doesn;t bother me in the slightest (though im ashamed to admit on the forst meeting i did silently judge the book by the cover and think he looked a bit chavvy :o obviously now as i said i dont care a t all he' just my Swain no matter how he dresses). BUT my mums invited him to my brothers 21st meal and its at some posh (AHEM overpricced) pub. This is the first time he'll have met my family and unfortunetly i kn ow what my family are like. Bro and sisters likely wouldnt care but i'm worried that my parents will. Its such a stupid thing to worry about but i don;t want them to judge him on what he wears and i don;t want him to feel unwelcome or the odd one out. How the hell do i broach this? I was considering texting back my mum saying yes he;d come but is there a dress code? But at the same time i love the guy to bits and he;s a permenent part of my life and they should accept him as he is? He has smart joggers he wears for work with a polo shirt? I've never seen him in jeans/trousers in the 2 years we've been together :rotfl: and i don;t want to ask him to dress a certain way just to please my potentially judgmental parents. Help?
