Where's pyxis? You'd like the article (in the guardian, I think) about Aris being cockney rhyming slang . .

I'll link it in when I have more time.

Got to admit ww that I have the same thoughts sometimes, when it all gets too much.

Izzy - Yay for the venue. Is it in Cuba? Did you even mention Cuba?

Today I have been trying to do some work and I have actually made progress. I admit that it's made the day go a little faster and alleviated my anxiety somewhat. Why do I procrastinate and refuse to do any work when I know it just makes things worse for me? I'm my own worst enemy!

Not able to go out for my usual walk though because it's been snowing on and off all day and I don't want to be caught in a blizzard. Sadly no snow on the ground though. It's also so cold that I can't wear my pretty dresses.

I did mention Cuba, well remembered!, and we're getting married there but it'll be just the two of us for that part. Last night's venue-hunting was for the reception/party which will be in London a couple of months after we get back.

Well done for getting work done, I've been quite hideously unproductive today!!

Seeing as it's so cold here that I don't want to be outside for more than about 2 minutes at a time I can't imagine what it must be like up there but I don't blame you for not wanting to go for a walk.

Although that sounds like quite an odd situation it's also really lovely. It would be fine if all they did was get on well enough that things weren't awkward if you're all together but the fact that they're comfortable enough to go out without you is fantastic.

Good luck with getting all of AM's stuff moved in!!

AM called it a man date :rotfl:

I don't expect them to become best buddies but AM realises that my husband is still part and will all ways be part of my life. And he understands that. AM is very relaxed about everything.

It wont happen very often them going out with or without me.

Well tomorrow AM's parents are coming to help so fingers crossed we will get some stuff sorted and moved :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hugs and squishes and handshakes all round.

hope everyone gets some rest this evening.

    Yours

  • I love love love the fact that AM and husband are doing friendly stuff together. My last lover came to my wedding, which was also nice. (It was actually a bit more complicated than I can say on here, but it genuinely was lovely and he gets on well with my husband, who of course knows the score.)

Morning everyone, wishing you all a good weekend. I'm off to a classic car show soon. It's out the other side of Bristol, so going to take well over an hour to get there

edit - just looked out the window and there's snow on the ground. Not much, bit still snow.

I have a To Do list which didn't start to get done on seeing the snow.

The snow stopped falling hours ago and I've just got dressed.

Two loads of laundry. Our of four.

One letter to post. Need to find the cheque book, envelope and stamp.

Gardening. In this weather??! You must be joking!

    Vacuuming. Maybe tomorrow.

Laundrette for a sleeping bag. No change (£1 and 20p pieces needed) so maybe during the week or next weekend after I get to the building society.

    Tidying up. Slow progress there.

Shopping. Okay. The shop closes at 23:00. I can do that.

Take timesheet to HR. Office closed at 1200 today and don't open again until Monday morning. Deadline is Monday morning otherwise I won't get paid on Thursday.

I've eaten loads and shambled about. Not on the To Do list.

I have bought 3 tickets to see shows in Birmingham. Also not on the To Do list.

I need to sort out the buttons on a coat, fix the metal ends of a scarf, fix a broken chain, sort out the embroidery on a cardigan, fix the embroidery on a coat, shorten a pair of trousers and sort through the cross stitch projects. Forgot to put those on To Do list.

    Meh.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Having similar success with my to do list GN. Think the only thing I've actually managed is posting a gift....only three weeks later than intended!

Really need to make a start on the ironing but I just want to get inside my blanket and stay there, it's too cold to do anything else.
  • My house has just got over 18C inside an I'm overheating  Nasty feeling I might be getting a cold again. Didn't manage to get out of bed until noon today, after going to bed around 10 last night. My todo list has been officially abandoned :rotfl:

It's a very dear friend's last weekend in the UK before she leaves for Spain with her husband, so I'm off out in a bit into the centre of the city to meet them in a pub for their farewell do. Will be only one beer for me, as I need to drive home in a straight line afterwards!

Littlewing is getting over a fever and is weak but still wanted to go to a birthday party today. She is now resting.

I have wrapped up 4 (small in monetary value) Valentine presents, some birthday presents and an Easter present so far.

I have 2 empty shoe boxes to wrap with xmas paper so they can be filled during the year for Christmas shoebox charities. I have some bits and bobs that can go in them already.

I am rearranging my Presents Cupboard so I can actually find things in it.

I sound very efficient but it is a slow process today as I am tired - bloody communists having a rave, I reckon.

Later, I am going to attempt to make cake decorations. No doubt DH will have plenty of 'advice' on the subject, so he may well end up wearing them! Bless him.

Littlewing seems to be asleep so I shall attempt to sneak out of the bedroom. Be back later.
