I got my gold trophy for Portuguese today or should I say: Eu ganhou meu trofeu ouro em Portugues hoje. It does mean that there are no more new lessons though and I certainly don't feel like I know all the Portuguese, so that's a bit disappointing. Can't decide whether to find another app or learn a new language and maintain the Portuguese through vocabulary lessons.

One was next day, and they have agreed to refund the carriage charge (£20+VAT as it's a heavy item, so it was worth asking!) The other was not a specific number of days but they told me would be delivered today. No response from them yet.

The amazon package is still showing "out for delivery", at 6pm :eek:

Amazon deliver until quite late. I've had things after 9pm.

Yes they do. Had amazon deliver at 5.55pm the other day.

And on sundays before as well.

If they have no collections would have thought they would go to the furthest delivery away and work backwards so you finish near home!!!

Edit....Just done some googling....

There is a Hello Kitty Dim Sum restaurant in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Before the restaurant opened, the owners spent a year and a half working towards being approved by Sanrio.


I never realised it started in 1976, although it was probably a lot later that it filtered through to here.

Apparently Kitty is British! (British stuff was very popular in Japan at the time.).

A very amusing thing is this.........

"As of August 2007, Thai police officers who have committed minor transgressions such as showing up late or parking in the wrong place are forced to wear pink Hello Kitty armbands for several days as penance."

Perhaps that was to test the demand. Perhaps they are negotiating a licence for UK cafès with Sanrio as we speak.

One downer is that a licence is likely to cost an awful lot upfront, but a bank might be willing to lend on the basis that it would be a sure-fire thing!


If someone else, like Cutter and Squidge (who are bakers), negotiates the main licence with Sanrio for cafes in the UK, they might then set up a franchise scheme, and you may be able to secure a franchise for your own cafe. You would probably be locked in to serving Cutter and Squidge produce, though.

wow you've done your research! fascinating to read, i thought licensing might be an issue. as you said food for thought though! I may have to stick with getting more hello kitty tattoos in the meantime (nobody tell Sanrio they might make me laser them off or do me for copyright infringment :eek: :rotfl: )

Having serious mistrust in the weather forcast as so far....NO SNOW *stamps feet( i want snow!!! Its not because if there is snow work will be even deader than it already is...promise... :A :rotfl:

I've half cleaned my room today (its not a one day job), i can finally see my floor again, and ive done a load of washing and changed my bedding (its pink with stars on and the stars glow in the dark! Yes i am 30....i just like pretty things)

Its frustrating waiting for things to arrive, i've started getting all my deliveries sent to Swain's as at his there is someone in but at mine i always miss the delivery and have to mess around going to the post office to pick them up!
