    Note to all slow cooker users - when using a timer so your tea is cooked to perfection on your return from work, remember to set the clock on said timer. A return home to a bowl full of raw meat and veg just isn't the same. :(

    Oh no elsien, that's rubbish!

    I have also had disappointments today - ordered some clothes including a skirt I really loved and a blouse. They arrived today and the blouse was faulty and the skirt is too tight. Only returning the blouse but I have to pay postage which grinds my gears.

    Weight penguin I'll keep the skirt because the scale showed I have gained 6lbs :eek: and perhaps it will give me to motivation to try to lose some weight. I am worried I will regain all the weight I lost before if I don't do something and I suspect I'm back on the obese part of the bmi chart. end penguin

    If so, Blimey! That was my original one before I changed it to the Christmas blackbird with the Santa hat, and that was before Christmas!

    What format do you use?

    I lied that is the one I saw before.

    Code, About your penguin don't worry I am in the same situation. Something I need to tackle. So both me and action man have to deal with it. He has been downgraded in TA due to it. So need to get his fitness back up.

    Thats why I never online clothes shop, Code. The sizes vary so much between retailers it's pure guesswork as to which one to get.
    Bit rubbish though when it's something you're looking forward to getting.

    As we have been talking about taking down the decorations, I thought you might find this interesting.........

    Long ago it was thought that leaving the decorations up would
    cause a disaster because people believed that tree spirits lived in
    the greenery, holy, ivy etc, that they decorated their houses with;
    the greenery was brought into the house to provide a safe haven
    for the tree spirits during the harsh midwinter days; once this
    period was over it was necessary to return the greenery back
    outside to release the tree spirits into the countryside once again;
    failure to do this would mean that vegetation would not be able to
    start growing again and spring would not return, leading to an
    agricultural disaster.

    It was also thought that, if you left the greenery in the house, the
    tree spirits would cause mischief in the house until they were
    released; today many people still feel uneasy about leaving the
    Christmas decorations up after Twelfth Night, despite most
    decorations now being made of foil or paper and even though the
    tree spirits are long forgotten, the superstition still survives.

  • I am on the new blue format Pyxis and I see the same bird on the branch as ono.

    Hugs to all those with work worries, hugs to you to Torry, try not to worry about your assessment.

    I am feeling a little better finally. Catatonic episodes are so scary because they are unpredictable. Nothing causes them to happen, my brain chemicals just suddenly slip for no reason and it takes me a few days to become convinced it isn't about to happen again. My dreams are awful right now, every night I dream of losing people and being abandoned because I am not good enough. I am dreading going to sleep right now.

    It's really strange how some people see an avatar that I changed a month ago, whether I'm logged in or out, while others see a second avatar (that I changed a week ago) when I'm logged out and a fourth avatar when I'm logged in.

    Why? Why? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

    It's not even just between retailers. Ordered 4 skirts from same place (sale so totally mse) . Same style, slightly different materials and prints. 2 fit albeit with not much leeway since Christmas excesses, 1 fits if I breathe in and the other I can't even get the zip all the way up.

    WaS, I know you already know this, but team WaS isn't (aren't?) going anywhere. Sending golden lights to scare off the dark thoughts and dreams of puppies and kittens and sloths.

    Speaking of sloths, has anyone seen Zootropolis - here's the sloths scene. Safe for you to watch WaS.

    Glad you're feeling a bit better WaS *gentle hugs*

    I'm currently in a grump with work. They've decided we are ony allowed 10 voids on the till per shift (even if you're working 8hrs plus). We are one of the busiest shops in the country (number 2 in the whole uk) and we serve A LOT of customers, far more than smaller shops. Whilst i understand that we need to be careful not to make mistakes (and 10 in that respect i understand) what i don;t find fair is the fact this number INCLUDES when its because of a customer changing their mind. I'd go as far as to say 8/10 voids i do are because of customers either telling me the wrong thing or changing their mind for something else or cos they don't have enough money. This is beyond our control and we;ve been told if we go over ten we get told off, 3 tellings off and it goes to a verbal warning :mad: I'm angry that i could potentially (worst case scenario) lose my job through no fault of my own. My manger has tried arguing our case, her adivce to me was print off every void where its down to the customer and that she'd fight it as best she can.
