Well after months of trying to put it off have actually organised the unbelievably scary work thing. The people I'm going to see couldn't do the original date so am now going in early feb. I'm glad that the travel stuff is booked, but now absolutely bricking it about actually having to go. But at least it's a few weeks off so I can forget about it for now.0

Well done Tea.
Calley, I hope you feel better soon.
Code, I hope you hear from the old place, or an even better new place, soon.
I was so tired this morning that I ended up deciding to take a half day. Not the best use of leave when I've got loads going on this year but I really don't think I could've coped today without the extra sleep I got. I wish my place were more amenable to working from home.0 -

Was that the big huge scary thing you weren't going to do?
Ok. If anyone's there, and using the 'new' blue/white format, what avatar of mine are you seeing?
At the moment I am logged IN and it should be this one:
When I am logged OUT , it used to be this temporary one:
But it seems to have changed back to my Christmas one, with the Santa hat, (when I am logged OUT).
Edit...the Christmas Santa Hat one....(I just lurve spiders!)

Well done tea.
Half days are sometimes good Izzy. I've never understood why some companies don't take advantage of home working - you're burning your own electricity instead of theirs and it's not like you can't dial into meetings. Let's face it 99% of meetings are pointless exercises that could have been solved by an email. It's the same with flexible working. The old place had a really flexible system where you could start and finish and take lunch whenever you wanted as long as you did enough hours. Because people have different body clocks some people would work 7-3 and others 11-7 and others in between so there was always someone there. I don't get the rigid 9-5 thing at all. Here I have to take 1 hour for lunch even though I'd rather have 30 minutes, then leave 30 minutes early.
Still not heard anything. I did have a lovely lunchtime walk along the river though. Met some dogs and ducks. I'm going to miss that walk when I move (even if I'm stuck here, the office is moving).Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

I'm on the old green version too, but fwiw can see your top (logged in) avatar.
It is the thing I wasn't going to do Pyxis. I'm still not at all happy about it but at least having the flights booked will shut people up for a few days while I frantically try to win the lottery.0 -

Pyxis, I don't see either of the pictures in your post, or one with a santa hat. I've got a black bird facing to the left on what might be a branch or might be the apex of a roof, with its tail going straight out horizontally and another feather going out down and back at 45 degrees or so .Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230
