I don't think you gave anything way lambyr
Am doing my annual 'obsess over my ex husband's facebook profile'. I really need to stop doing this! I have absolutely no interest in him whatsoever, haven't spoken to him for maybe 14 years and am perfectly happy with that. I don't give him a second thought for 364 days of the year. But as soon as our anniversary comes around I'm back on the profile, looking at every photo on there and reading all the comments.
The weirdest thing is his wedding photos as he looks exactly the same as at our wedding. So much so I genuinely think it may be the same suit! They got married at least 10 years ago and in the photos he looks so much like he did when I knew him. He's really aged in the last year or so though, and put on quite a bit of weight so he looks quite different now.
There's just something about those wedding photos that fascinates me (in a freaky, unhealthy way I know!) It's like I've been photoshopped out of them and someone else added. The silly thing is it wouldn't make any difference if he had actually done that - there's no unfinished business there, no lingering regrets. It's just weird that you can be married to someone and then so completely separate again.
Blah.... will stop rambling.0 -
Tea - don't worry about rambling. I think it's perfectly normal to obsess slightly over things like that and the fact that you're not bothered about it the other 364 days of the year means it's fine to indulge on your anniversary.0

Yes, Tes, it is normal, even if only idle curiosity.
I did a bit of a google of two former boyfriends that I only went out with for a very short time in the 70s!
Didn't find either of them, although I did find the brother of one of them!
A couple of years ago, big mistake, I did google someone I went out with for a couple of years when I was in my late twenties. I had really hoped something would come of it, even though it was obvious he was fond of me but nothing more.
Part of the reason was that he had the supportive family network I craved, so I ignored the warning signs that the relationship wasn't likely to be for ever. In the end, it was, sort of, me that ended it, as it wasn't going anywhere; I wasn't cherished, IYSWIM.
Any way, when I googled him, I found him extremely easily, and also found, very easily, a whole load of info about his wife and family.
I was like a moth to a flame. I couldn't keep away from those web pages. It hurt like hell, because, again, he had the life I'd always wanted, married for over 25 years, grown-up children all doing well, etc. etc. Of course, it reopened all those rejection scars, didn't it!
In the end, I realised how destructive it was, and potentially obsessive, to keep on looking at this stuff, so I deleted my search history, and have resisted any further temptation.
It was so silly, because he wouldn't have made me happy. Most of the relationship was on his terms, in a passive aggressive sort of way!
It taught me a lesson!
So you see, Tea, we are our own worst enemies sometimes!
I have just got back from a shopping centre. I went there because I had bought some footsies from Marks, two pairs, and when I tried on one pair, they were too big....kept falling off my foot and slipping in the shoe. They said size 6-8, and I am a 6.5. Plus they were £5 a pair.
Anyway, I couldn't return the opened pair, but I thought at least I can get my money back on the unopened pair.
It's about a 15-minute drive, so I thought I'd return the footsies, get some Euros from Sainsbury's , treat myself to an Emmental and mushroom toastie in Marks cafe, ('they are delish!), buy a few bits from Lakeland, and maybe have a quick look at what's left of the sales.
Anyway, when I got there, I realised I'd left the wretched footsies at home! Honestly! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Cuddly trees! They're adorable! I want one!
One of my ex's is very easy to find, he even had his own Wiki page! He was professor of psychology at my university. It's amusing reading so many articles about his research and many books when I know so much more about him. For a start not only should he never have dated a student, I ended it when he told me he had a wife AND a girlfriend who didn't know about each other, nevermind me! He is on his fifth marriage now and I bet I can guess why! These days I roll my eyes and laugh.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
