I feel awful. Penguin about death This weekend was the anniversary of my mum's death. It's always hard but all I could think when standing at her grave was the age on her headstone is the age I am now. It's like a phsical pain. I have no reason to really think my time is limited but she dide totally out of the ble so my mind is on overdrive. End penguin

To add to that I've just been attacked on another thread for giving my opinion and had my faith called into question. It's the thing that keeps me going apart from Loon of course so it's horrible.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Birdie - thanks for that link, they are very similar to the one and only pair she has, but they came from Sainsburys so rather easier on the wallet. I found a pair of sandals today that I was so sure would fit I bought them - well I was half right, one of them fitted! So the hunt continues, I have seen some Clarks sandals called Helio Coral that might work, if the instep is high enough. But our Clarks shop is on a hill, & it's hard work with a wheelchair, but we'll get there!

    Torry,

Stay off threads for now that are upsetting you. It can be difficult to explain the nuances in printed text and I have been accused of all sorts when I have simply tried to explain my rationale. Even with my husband there are some (only a very few) things we have to agree to disagree on. And at least knowing my husband, we can get to the agree to disagree point much more calmly. It is a look harder to do online.

    Take comfort in your faith.

Sorry about the penguin. You are in a different circumstance. To quote one of my grandmother's favourite hymns - all will be well.

This may help Torry or it may be a massive crotch-biting penguin for you tonight. It is fine if you don't ever look at it. There is one quote I really like - not having been in your situation with your mum, so it may not seem as sensitive to you - which acknowledges the day and what it may mean. It is preceded by, 'it's as if'...

I'm sorry you're feeling bad Torry, it must be hard thinking about ages and how things are for yourself. This is somewhat different but my nan was the same age as the queen and everytime they mention her and her age i think "my nan could still be here" that i could of have had more years with her.

Regarding people making comments about your faith, try as best you can to ignore them. They obviously don't understand what it means to you. I'm not religious myself but i saw something on FB the other day, it said if you're not religious but a religious friend offers to pray for you. don't take offence, instead understand that your friend is appealing to the highest person they believe in and that thats actually the biggest thing they can do for you. Thats how i see it if people say they'll pray for me. You will always have your faith, and if they brings you comfort in times of difficulty then stuff anyone who tries to say otherwise.

  • Torry I saw that other thread and to me, it's little more than playground antics. It is far simpler for a keyboard warrior to simply jump on your faith rather than put together a cohesive counter-argument.

The logician in me says don't pay any attention to what is essentially a series of strokes that someone executed on a keyboard! However, this is obviously far easier said than done.

Hopefully, you will have a reasonable sleep tonight (if you're anything like me, a "good" sleep is somewhat overambitious!) and things may seem a little better in the morning. I hope they do (( ))
  • Cwtches to Torry, it's ignorance that fuels the keyboard warrior when it comes to religion and faith. It is such a personal relationship that nothing any one can say will ever understand it. Take comfort in your faith, it's times like this it should be your shield and your protection. I think that's a line from a hymn or I'm really witty at 00:15 lol.

Hi everyone else! I'm loving the idea of a shewee, it would make my life easier when I'm out and about. I'm forever driving round and looking for the nearest service station haha.

Calley, please don't think you're too well to be here. Ironically, it's when I'm well that I feel able to post.

On that note, had a really bad day Thursday. !!!!!y voice was rather shouty Wednesday night and frightened me so much. I felt quite close to being as poorly as I was last year just before my lowest point. That's the scary part of getting better, you can recognize how your were the last time and what might be coming. But still, keep taking the meds and plodding on.

DH decided that it was time we decorated the living room so my week, instead of spring cleaning, has been painting, going to the skip and building furniture. Display case is arriving at stupid o'clock tomorrow, then all our figurines can be put on display and I can actually move in our bedroom Lmao.

Love, hugs and cwtches to all. I'm sorry I've not been around much. I'm feeling better now though so I should be kicking about on here more.
