Dodgy group air hug is fine be me.
I am having an evening avoiding politics because I will otherwise be hurling objects at the TV, and catching up on some comedy programmes instead. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Are there air kisses too, elsien? Someone did that to me once and I almost burst out laughing, a kiss in the air by each of my cheeks. I find that amusing for some reason.
I have been asleep all day because I stayed up with my teacher friend and american friend all night watching the results so I am oblivious to what has gone on since. I think I will stay that way too because too much of potentially scary news whether true or not will make me ill and no vote going either way is worth that.
My main focus right now is when Finding Dory comes out on DVD, now there is a film I can watch!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Everything's all speculation and guesswork, WAS, and will be for some time yet so you're best off keeping away from it all.
I hadn't heard of Finding Dory - just had to google it. I've not been keeping track of new films for a while. Must start checking again. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I loved Finding Nemo and Dory was one of my favourite characters so I am bound to love this one too!
Yes, elsien, I followed it last night and I shall avoid what is said in the coming days and be an ostrich! Everyone is fine to talk here about it though, I don't mind hearing people's views and am quite interested in fact so carry on please! I can't emphasise that enough. I just don't want to be subjected the media take on it which will say This is great! or This is doom! depending on what you read/watch when actually no one is sure what's happening yet. I know when to stick my head in the sand for the sake of my own sanity and this is most definitely the time. It really isn't worth me getting ill over and giving more inspiration to the voices who already have enough material to mess me up with.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Final politics PENGUIN
This isn't solely about LGBT. There are far deeper reasons why I will be leaving the United Kingdom as soon as it is feasibly possible to do so.
Everything has changed already. My perception of what this country is has changed. Yes, there are people here who think like I do - I know there are - but that is of scant comfort when there is no turning back from the decision that has just been made.
The UK does not represent people like me any more. The UK does not make me feel welcome any more. It's nothing to do with where I live in the UK, it's about the UK itself. The UK now represents the Leave campaign. Fine they won and I can't change that but my personal values, my personal identity is aligned far tighter to the ideals of several member states of the European Union than the UK.
It's much more than LGBT. It's about the core beliefs, principles and ideals that identify me as a person. There is no representation for that now.

Lambyr,
I feel saddened by your post, but glad you could post it. Can you tell us more about the values etc of the other places that you feel are more aligned to yours. (I am wondering if they are the same values that I hold dear).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I totally understand that, Lambyr. How have you been today? Is there anything we can do to help you feel supported? Even if you feel the country doesn't support your core beliefs we support you as our friend who we care about. I wish I could help you to feel better.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I live in Brighton.. it is very safe for gay people.. I always see same sex couples walking down the street hand in handI tried to send you a pm but you don't accept messages.. What I was going to say was that I moved here 20 years ago from living in 2 homophobic places.. I respect your wish to leave England.. today has been a terrible blow, on top of the conservatives getting in last year, but Brighton is a bubble, people here are so open minded.. I have never found such an accepting place as here.I'm sure there are pockets of London, Bristol and Manchester, and other areas, but the people here are very accepting of all different types of lifestyles, and people. and this city reflects my values and beliefs, and after living here, I could never imagine living anywhere else!. If you ever decide to come down and check it out with your girlfriend, I'd be happy to meet up for a coffee and show you around :)
penguin endMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0 -
Now here's a thought put to me today - those who did not bother to vote must be happy with the way things are, so must count as Remain. So Exit are the minority.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0
