Phew! All packed, gardens done (front and back) and the house cleaned top to bottom, I've got to have my house all immaculate before going anywhere! Wanted to dye my hair but haven't had time, so it'll have to wait.

Been another hot sunny day here, but sounds like it's peeing it down in the South!

Hope the pain goes away soon WaS x x x

Tell me about it elsien :( It's not even funny anymore....not that it ever was, but I'm fast losing my sense of humour about it, so I feel your pain.

    Sounds lovely Torry x

    Nope. :(

Wish I'd never been born tbh.

  • Big hugs Lambyr and take a deep breath. I can take a guess at while you are upset and all I can really say is nothing will change overnight. This has never been done before so we don't know what will happen and I doubt anyone else really does right now. At this moment nothing has changed, it won't for a while. Go cuddle under a blanket and do something comforting for yourself please? You aren't alone.

    But things have changed already.

    PENGUIN (Politics)
Who I am and what I am is incompatible with the Britain that the majority of people want.

I can't kid myself over that any more. It's there in black and white; or yellow and blue.

    I'm not welcome here.

A campaign led by people who are on record making jokes about drowning !!!!!exuals (and stop blocking that word, MSE - it's far more offensive to do that than to allow someone to use it), who have equated !!!!!exuality to beastiality, who have advocated discriminating against people based on race and gender and who have used racial slurs on multiple occasions has just won.

I saw their supporters yesterday, when I went to vote. I'm sure some people have actual logical and rational reasons for voting leave but all I saw was the same hateful vitriol being spewed by people repeating the same lies I've been hearing for weeks.

And as the pound goes tumbling, the market forces that none of us control will look at Britain as a less-safe investment. The recession draws closer already... and so does the austerity.

Since 2010 I have already had to start making a "weekly" grocery shop with fewer items last several days longer.

But that's OK because I'm just some leech off the state as far as most people are concerned.

There is nothing I can do to bring me comfort because I was cursed with intelligence. British Mensa uses the Cultural Fair test with a minimum entry level of a 132 IQ. I beat that, comfortably.

All I can do to keep me going during the next couple of years is try and plan a way out of this country so that I can leave and never come back.

    END

I may join Lambyr in the not happy corner. I know we're not supposed to talk about politics so going to penguin this next part.

    Politics penguin
The only good thing I can see about this whole thing is the possibility of a second Scottish Independence Referendum.

    /end penguin.

Lambyr come to Scotland. For some reason we seem to be a bit more tolerant - for example the leaders of Scottish conservative and labour parties are both openly in same sex relationships. One of them came out recently to a resounding meh. I think the general response was "Yeah, we don't care."

Hugs Lambyr, sorry you feel so bad. :(

They say never talk about politics because it causes arguments etc, so all I will say is this

    Penguin

I voted to leave, and I am genuinely chuffed to bits that we're leaving!

My reasons aren't purely based on immigration and the like (but I do firmly believe that we need to gain control of our borders again and that it needs to be controlled), but for many other reasons too
    .

    Penguin end.
  • It' fine to talk about politics here as long as we gently agree to differ when necessary, are respectful of each others views (which we always are anyway!) and we penguin it. I am sure people will be feeling all sorts of emotion for many different reasons today so of course we can share them here.

I just want to send hugs, squishes and handshakes to anyone who is upset and ask you to please take extra care of yourselves today.

    Heh, code.

Scotland's a bit too close. I want at least a sea between me and Eng-er-land.

I'm gonna spend today drowning my sorrows, or at least until I run out.

I have E over tomorrow. I'm gonna have to have a think about what to do about that relationship.

And on Sunday I'm going to start working out how to give myself some sort of future away from here. Even if I only sleep 2 hours a night for the rest of my life, I'm gonna have to fix this for myself.

    Response penguin to georgie

I completely understand your reasons and while I may not agree with you, I stand by your right to hold that opinion. My biggest problem is that once again, my country has voted in unison and once again that has been lost because our population is small. We have a government we didn't vote for and are leaving an alliance we didn't want to . Personally I think it's a mistake but I hope I'm wrong.

Anyway I'll shut up about it now.

Hope you enjoy your trip Georgie.
