Ooh-er!
I just set it to automatic! It's not a special camera, just small. It's a Sony cybershot, but I picked one with a good zoom.
Unfortunately, I missed a really good shot of both storks standing by the nest, because it was the first time I was using the camera, out in the wild, ( only bought it ten days before) , and it kept recording video instead of snaps.
Later I found it was on movie setting and not on stills! :rotfl: derr!
When I was in Sri Lanka, I was getting fed up with lugging my bridge camera around, and its zoom wasn't the best in the world. Then one of the women in the group showed me her Sony Cybershot, and it was so small and light. Then she showed me its zoom, which was brilliant compared with mine, so I thought, that's it, I must get one of those!
It fits in a small pocket in my handbag, or the zipped pocket on my trousers!
I don't know how to get the video recordings onto my iPad, though.
As usual, the instructions are pathetic.(I just lurve spiders!)

Lovely pictures! I really should sort my camera out (well my laptop really). I've taken loads of photos lately but my laptop is soooooo slow that I haven't done anything with them for ages.
Am working from home today and it's fair to say that there is not much work happening.... which could be a problem as my things to do list is stupidly long. I don't really know where to start with it all so am ignoring it.
It's very quiet here.... hope everyone's doing ok and looking forward to a peaceful/fun/relaxing/exciting* weekend.

WaS - well done for your cactus. I'm really not green-fingered in the slightest so trying to get our garden looking pretty has been interesting...
I can sympathise with ever-growing to-do lists as well.
I've got today and 2 more proper working days (overtime tomorrow doesn't count as that's a fairly specific task) left before holiday and about 3 weeks' work to get cleared up.
I also need to finish all of my last-minute bits for holiday, get the flat sparkly clean again (everything seems to be covered in small, sticky fingerprints after last weekend...), get Dad's father's day present to him and sort out my packing which, due to my ever-changing size, involves having to try on pretty much everything I'm considering taking with me first!!
I also feel like I'm coming down with a cold (tickly cough, stuffy nose and sore eyes) so am seriously hoping that it's just tiredness and not actual germs because I've been looking forward to holiday for so long that I really, really don't want to be ill for it.

Hey everyone. Typing this on tablet so might not make complete sense if something gets randomly autocorrected and I don't spot it.
Feeling a bit strange and I guess I need someone to tell me to stop being a numpty.
E's dad contacted me earlier this week asking whether he could pick my brains about some computer stuff. He's decided to go freelance because he thinks he's gone as far as he can at his current company.
So, as a confirmed technophobe he asked me to run through his options. Met up for lunch for an hour and went through everything I could think of... Long dull story short, he offered me the job.
To start with it won't be too much more than I get per month now, but it would get me off carers allowance. I can do all the work at home so doesn't interfere with my caring and there is the potential to make a lot more in the future if his freelancing work is a success.
So this is all good! But my stupid little brain is running through all these downers like is he asking cos I'm with his daughter, would he have asked if I wasn't, what if we have a row etc.
And I can do this job. Half of it involves things I did when I briefly worked in an office before I had to stop to look after mum, and the other half is stuff I've taught myself.
I don't want to ask him this stuff cos it'd be rude... But I guess part of me wants to be assured that it's a business decision on his part and he's asking cos I impressed him with what I was able to show him and what he knows of me.

Lambyr that doesn't sound silly to me. You need to know all the details before committing yourself but hopefully it will all work out for you.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Your fears are natural, but look at it this way - he knows you, he knows your situation caring for your mum, he knows you can do the job and he doesn't have to spend time and money trying to recruit someone that might turn out to be hopeless, so from his point of view it's all positive, irrespective of your relationship with his daughter.
You and your girlfriend have been friends for many years and in a relationship for a few months as I recall? So chances are he would have asked you even if you and her were still "just friends". At least that's my guess.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
I'm feeling wobbly and vulnerable.. the group yesterday was challenging, as was the group today, I'm not sure if I will go back to the bi polar one, I will try, and I def won't go back to the friday group at the bpd place, I'm going to still to the monday group, but I might try and go to a relaxation group tomorrow, if I'm brave enough, although the instinct is to hide away.. Speak soon soon, guys xMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE0

Absolutely agree with this.
In addition, consider this:
He's gone Freelance, which is a bit of a step into the unknown for him. He needs someone he can rely on to do the job and do it well, otherwise it'll cost him money and/or his reputation, as he builds up his client-base. There's no way he would have offered it to you just out of 'kindness', not given his new circumstances.
When I had my business, I would have loved to have known of someone already, who could do the job I was offering, instead of having had to go down the advertising/interviewing route.(I just lurve spiders!)
