I am fine with counting down to a penguin if everyone else is? How about this format?

Non-whited out penguin at the bottom of post-

Of course, it is important that anyone who feels themselves to be in an emergency post without worry, I wouldn't want anyone who is feeling in an immediate crisis to worry about how their posts are written. There are exceptions, for example if I am in a psychotic crisis it probably wouldn't even occur to me to penguin depending on how delusional I am so I think in circumstances like that people should be able to just talk (within the site rules of MSE). Is this ok with everyone?

Where possible we do need to give warning of posts that could trigger others, but if someone is in a crisis then just talk to us.

Melly is ok (hi Melly!) and yes, if people take a break I usually know (please tell me or I'll blame myself and think I've done something horrible), if only because I tend to pm people in a panic. :rotfl:

Hello all! Sorry to have been so quiet and to have missed the Great Penguin Debate (loads of good ideas there) - I came home from my weekend and woke up feeling dreadful yesterday. I think my food allergies are getting worse, but we may have tracked it down to processed celery. Which means that I can't eat any stock at all now, even Marigold, but no matter, at least I know (hoping this is right and I never get an attack like yesterday again!) xxx

Aw, JM! That isn't good, I hope you feel better today. If you aren't at work (and I hope you aren't) take it easy and relax as much as you can.

Processed celery? That's an impressive bit of detective work - never would have occurred to me such a thing existed. Hope you feel better soon.

I am tired and grumpy and in need of a break. I have said break coming up but it's with parent who is currently driving me up the wall. Probably more to do with me than her, but when I'm working full time and trying to book things, it's not helpful when the retired person announces they don't have time to help.

has anyone been to Portugal and would it be too much of a shock to drive if your only experience of left hand drive is a few years ago on assorted Greek Islands?

faerie, your post was a real joy to read :):) I hope you continue to find the group a real help. Colouring is ace isn't it?! I found some beautiful A5 colouring books in poundland a few weeks ago - just the right size to pop in my bag. There must be 100+ pages in.... not bad for £1!

I think you're brave to consider it!

I never would. I just feel I would be an accident waiting to happen! I'm a fairly good driver here, most of the time, anyway, and I have a reasonably good sense of spatial awareness and all that, but to start driving on the right and have to cope with roundabouts and junctions without having the chance to practice it first, well........shudder!

Add to the mix all the different road signs and restrictions, and all the traffic, and the different language and...........shudder!

I might succeed in getting where I'm going, but it would be incredibly stressful, and as it's supposed to be a holiday, well, it's a non-starter for me.

If I were staying in a place for 3 months, and could have a couple of lessons out there with an instructor, well, that would be ok, but for a few days' holiday, nooooooooo! I want to relax! :D

Faerie - Well done for being brave enough to go and I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it.

    (((( Torry ))))

Tea - I didn't know they did adult colouring books at Poundland. I might have to go and stock up on them for my mum, since she retired she tries to do at least one picture a day.

elsien - It's no wonder you're tired and grumpy if you're having to organise everything on top of working. I have no idea what driving in Portugal would be like, are you there for long enough to have a couple of days without a car to see what conditions are like and decide after that if you want to brave it?
