No, not me! So you can reveal all!
What magazine was it? And what pic?
Am intrigued!
Not long after you got back, a pic appeared in Take a Break (my Mam does the puzzles and then I read the trashy stories :rotfl: ) in the section where you pose somewhere strange or on holiday holding a copy of TaB and you get £50 or something. I thought it maybe looked like you from one of the photos you posted.0 -

Thanks codeThey're just taken on my iPhone, but I did climb down and climb on the rocks to get that waterfall shot! I'm planning on taking my SLR next time and going paddling to get a better view! :rotfl:
How are you feeling now?0 -
I did read once about a pizza burger... I don't know whether this is a thing available anywhere near you though... or whether such a thing should even be a thing, because it sounds rather OTT!
Can't think of food right now, decided to be good and take my AD and now I have zero appetite and even if I did have one I feel so sick I doubt Id keep it down.bleah. Need to stick it out past the point of side effects this time. Though I certainly undertand why weight loss is a side effect of this med!

Strangely much better after I left work.
Upcoming work rant .
Remember how I said my manager was changing position and his job was opening up? Well they haven't even advertised the post yet, and when they do it will only be open to people on that paygrade and not as a promotion, so unless nobody is interested, I won't be able to apply. Also, in a meeting where they told us this, they said we all should apply and one of the managers went on about how I shouldn't let my disability hold me back - in front of the dude who is doing the interviews (who is also the dude I had a misguided snog with at my first Christmas party there) so even if it does open up and I do apply it will look like I'm doing it because that manager nagged me into it and the whole disability thing will count against me because now it looks like I'm not confident in my abilities. :wall:
Due to MH issues and general pdoffness, my current manager has more or less checked out, dumped all the work including stuff way above my paygrade on me without any instructions and now I not only have to develop a new system, I have to manage the project, guide the consultants, arrange system upgrades and sort out system problems. Assuming they get someone in the first round, it'll be st least 12 weeks to get someone in post. I said I wasn't doing it unless they paid me the appropriate amount but it's fallen in my lap anyway. I bleedin knew this would happen.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

I don't think it will look like you are applying just because your manager nagged you into it. If you do apply, I think they'll think you're applying because you believe you've got the ability to do the job. The disability thing won't count against you, it can't, they're not allowed to discrimate like that. If the opportunity arises, you should definitely go for it.Bit sh*t of him to say that in front of other people though.
Is there a manager you can go to above your manager to talk to about getting your pay grade adjusted if you are to do this extra work? Doesn't seem fair they can just dump it all on you like that.0 -
The managers above those 2 blocked the payrise, so nope. It sucks.
I know they can't officially discriminate based on the disability but the way it was worded made it seem like I handle it badly and have no confidence in my abilities, which isn't true. I am awesome at what I do.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

So if I understand this right, they expect you to do the job for at least three months without appropriate renumeration and also say that you can't apply for the permenant position despite being expected to do it on an interim basis? If so that's bloody cheeky IMO.
Have they explained why they think you're competent to do it for several months to get them out of a sticky spot, but not to apply to do it permanently?
Despite all the upheaval and uncertainty at my work at the moment, one of the advantages of working for a tiny company is it doesn't come with layers and layers of management, which it sounds like you have to deal withProud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

You don't still have it, I suppose?
I'm really intrigued, now! :rotfl:onomatopoeia99 wrote: »So if I understand this right, they expect you to do the job for at least three months without appropriate renumeration and also say that you can't apply for the permenant position despite being expected to do it on an interim basis? This, with knobs on.
You really should quote this to them, Code.
On the other hand, you could argue that, ok, yes, you'll do it for three months, to prove your worth, but then you will expect to be considered for the job.(I just lurve spiders!)

(((code))) a friend of mine at work has just the same going on....manager left, she's been left with all the work, but they've told her it's too big a jump to promote her into the role. So, like you, she's seen as good enough to do the role for months while they look for someone, but not to actually be paid for it.
Am cross for both of you!
Off to a musical this afternoon, very excited0
