Good, though, that your weight is at a stage where you need sanitary products.

Again, unable to focus properly today... ugh, waiting on something that I know isn't gonna go my way but somehow I need confirmation it hasn't in order to move on and be productive.

Anyhoo, so I thought I'd chime in on chuggers. I don't hate them cos I get why they do it - it's a job at the end of the day. But the pushy ones do nark me and I really dislike the emotional blackmail that some of them resort to.

    PENGUIN (animals):
Like one chugging for the RSPCA started trying to make out that if I didn't hand over my bank details, I'd be personally contributing to animal's suffering. I was like, hang on, the RSPCA puts down tens of thousands of healthy animals each year, whereas my dog (and the one before it) come from rescue centres. I wasn't best pleased with that tactic. But those representing other charities do the same thing sometimes and I just don't like people trying to manipulate me into feeling like a horrible person because I can't contribute money to them because the fact is I know that most of that money doesn't go to the charity. I seem to recall reading that it's something like 12 months worth of average donations before the charity starts to really receive anything.

    END PENGUIN

I do give to charity, but it's one off donations when I have something spare and it's always direct to the charity because at least I know more of it will be going to what I want it too. Maybe I'm a bit cynical at times but sometimes I also think we have too many charities doing much the same thing and if some of them merged then more good could be done? I dunno.

    Yay! Code :T

I do hope that improvement continues!:)

Don't worry if you get the odd blip.......the tape might come off, or it might be too loose so that your mouth still opens, etc. etc.

Now, what is that App you use? Does it actually respond to sound?

I had one once, a while back, but it responded to movement, so you had to have it bed with you, and I was always worried my iPad would fall out of bed, as I'm restless, so I stopped using it.

I'd also be interested to know how much I talk in my sleep still.

I set my alarm for 3.15am, and when I saw there was a perfectly clear sky, went outside to try to see the Aquarids.

There were loads of stars, and a very bright Mars and a couple of other planets, probably Venus and Jupiter.

I did see one meteor, very very briefly, but otherwise nothing. The street lights were still on, so although I shielded them with my hand, it might have been too bright. If I hadn't had an appointment this morning, I might have driven out to a darker spot.

They're supposed to be visible the time tonight too, although less so, so if it's clear again, I just might drive somewhere.

I've never seen a meteor shower, and would love to!

On my way back from my appointment, I dropped in to M&S, and picked up a bottle of a new type of cider to try. I normally prefer beer, finding most cider too sweet, but I liked the sound of this.

It was Cider with sloe and elderberry, and it is very nice! It would be lovely chilled, while one is sitting in the sun in the garden on a lazy summer's afternoon!

    Talking of sweet...........

Last week, having heard people raving about Pringles for a while, and not having eaten them for years, I thought I'd try some.
I'm rather fond of some beef-flavoured crisps, so I thought I'd try the BBQ beef ones.
Well, whenI started to tuck in, I thought oh! They're sweet! Now, I'm not at all fond of a sweet/sour mix as a rule, but I ate a few more. It was no good though; in the end I was going bleugh!

I went to have a look at the ingredients, and there it was, SUGAR, on the list of ingredients! Totally spoiled it IMO.

Just thought I'd warn you lot.

Now, calorie-wise there was no difference between the Pringles and the FlameHot Walkers crisps I'd also bought. However, I'd rather those calories were in oil than in sugar, quite apart from the taste being sickly.

I was annoyed when I tried some wasabi peas a year or so ago, as I like wasabi, and I like peas, but there again there was sugar! And they were sickly too. First you got the lovely wasabi kick, then the cloying sweet flavour took over. Yuk!

I usually always check for sugar, but I didn't with the Pringles. Don't know why!

It's back to marmite on toast then! :D

I'm a cider drinker myself. Just generally stick to Thatcher's Gold though... nothing too fancy! I kinda like sweet things though. There's a Belgian beer called Kriek, which is cherry flavoured. Everyone thinks I'm weird for really liking that stuff.

I have to avoid Pringles. I will eat a whole tube in one sitting, especially the prawn cocktail ones.

They had little tubes of pringles on the plane back on Sunday, I was so tempted, even at Easyjet prices :o Turned out they had run out of change, so I was saved from myself!

    Mmmmmmm, Pringles!!!!

Even though I know they're kind of weird and not really proper crisps I still like them. I do have to avoid buying them though as it's far too easy to eat a whole tube without realising.

Penguin about dieting I don't know why, seeing as I've been having crisps, ice cream etc. (just in much smaller quantities than normal), but I've been really struggling with major crisp cravings this week. It's like I've got "Got to have crisps" Got to have crisps!" on pretty much a constant loop in my head and it's annoying the hell out of me. I don't know if part of it is because we're going down to Cornwall this weekend and I normally have a car picnic but I'm actually having to avoid them altogether as I fear that if I start I won't be able to stop!!

I've even ended up staying in the office for lunch the past couple of days because I don't think I could be trusted to go into a shop at the moment without ending up buying junk food. I was very proud of myself on Tuesday for choosing Sun Bites over Walkers ridged paprika crisps with my meal deal but all they really did was highlight how much I want real, oily, crunchy crisps!!

It's ridiculous, I'm really pleased with how well I'm doing, my holiday clothes are a lot closer to fitting, I feel healthier, I'm actually enjoying food rather than mindlessly consuming it and the past few days have been a constant battle not to give into cravings and sabotage it all...

    Afternoon shipmates,

Lovely and warm here today. Waves and hugs and squishes and handshakes to all.

But special ones to MU and Flybaby and melly and WaS. You know why ;)

I am numpty today. Got a lift from lodger to husbands. He passes by so not out of his way. Wanted to go to the library to take back an audio book. And guess what left at husbands LOL!!! had to go and renew it as it was due back today. oops :rotfl:Its the sun fault as frizzled my mind LOL!!!! Had a coffee and then walked back. Nice walk actually.

Been in the garden pottering around. Not got a huge amount done. But as they say slowly slowly catch a cold :rotfl: I have my beach brolly out to stand under and my hat and shades on and listening to an audio book. Need to get some sun cream. Got £25 in points on my boots card. So might spend them on some sun cream.

Feeling shattered after a crappy night. But never mind that is life. And one battle to win :).

anyone got any ideas about this. I use audio books like this

    hero.png

Often I wear clothes that have no pockets. I tuck it under my bra strap but it never seems to stay put. I need an arm band or something? Any ideas please. Thanks.

Everyone if you get the time and are able to get out in sun for a short while. But don't burn please.

Everyone take care and catch you all again soon.

    Yours

    Calley

Sun? What sun? No sun here :rotfl:

Work stuff is making me want to scream and hide in the corner of the fort. Is it not the weekend yet?

    Penguin reply to Izadora
I actually think I have a problem with crisps. I crave them and when I start, I can't stop. I'll eat a whole family sized bag to myself in one sitting. If I have a small bag, I start craving more the second I'm done. I sympathise with your cravings.

Well done on the weight loss.
