That's the trouble. The symbol for the condition is a teal ribbon and butterflies, but that's really similar to the Cervical Cancer symbols, so I want to incorporate a lightning bolt. Plus we're known as TN warriors so I want some kind of warrior component to it too. So something mixing sweet and girly with 'I'll kick your !!!'. Not asking much am I? :rotfl:
I kind of like this, but I'd want it to be a bit more badass.
What are you thinking about getting?
ETA: how come badass is allowed but a s s isn't?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I love teal and I love butterflies, so that looks really cool!
You could take that picture down to a decent tattooists, one that would be able to actually help design one for you (not one that just does flash), and they might come up with some ideas you haven't thought of?
I think it would look really good with a lightening bolt positioned between the O and the P. Not going completely through it (that might be too ACDC like!) but starting above the letters, stopping when it gets to them and then continuing out the other side. Or the lightening bolt shaped in such a way that it forms the ribbons?
I'm not sure what I want yet. I'd like something in memory of my Dad. But, I am quite chop and change with my ideas, and it would be an important tattoo obviously, so I'd have to be 100% certain. I love feathers and butterflies, but I already have a butterfly one. Although I really do like those 3D ones that look like you could just grab them.0 -
Trying to catch up
Was, heard owt from Monty? Hopefullly he found his way out and is enjoying some happy rat time (off topic but Swain has a Rat (from Ratatouiie) that he sleeps with, he now has another two of the same one so i get to sleep with one!). So glad your friend got back in contact
Code i'm sorry about your dad and you feeling like you can;t have the same banter as you did. Age can do a lot to people, my grandma is not the same woman she was 10 years ago. it breaks my heart to see her so forgetful and frail
georgie-i need to try the 5:2 diet again, i tried it before and did lose weight but ive been lax recently and not stuck to it. my fast days i try to do when i'm at work so i'm busy and have less chance to think about food (she says...being surrounded by pasties and cakes)
Pyxis, wihs i seen the metoer shower thingy, at Swain's the sky is usually clear (its away from the city) but ive not seen anything of interest, i love looking at stars, always relaxs me!
code: i bloody hate chuggers  they just don;t seem to take no for an answer. I had a bad manic episode where i ended up signing up to a load of charities, that i couldnt afford and was hounded by them. i had to get my cpn to wroite to them to get them to back off
I agree wiith georgie about tattoos, get some ideas and find a decent tattoist (ask friends for recommendations), my butterfly wqas flash the tattoo artist already has bit its primarily orange with is used for self harm awareness and so it the butterfly for the butterfly project, so it felt fitting
tea-good luck with the exam! i'm sure you'll ace it. revision wise what worked for me was having a huge flowchart that detailed key points, good luck with it
elsien- you're so much braver than me for going to the dentist. ive not been in 9 years :eel: need to seriously look into it, but am going to need sedating before they come anywhere near me!
Sorry iof i have missed people (hello Calley, Onomatapia, tea, Faerie and anyone else i;ve missed)
I'm generally ok, my mood has been down recently (not sure why, i usually get a spring bust of hypermania every year but this year i seem to be having a depressive period), think its mainly money worries atm (and PIP). I feel bad for Swain as he wants to help and wants me to feel better but as i dont know why i feel down theres not a lot he can do (any suggestions to help Swain help me are welcome)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. What a beautiful tattoo!
Hmm, if I have a depressive episode MU, I find what helps me is a balance between WaSp listening but carrying on as normal too. I do like to know that I can talk if I need to but a lot of the time there is nothing to say because nothing is actually wrong, it's just chemical. Also, me being me if someone constantly asks me what's wrong I'll start to think a non-issue is an issue because my brain will scramble for a reason why I feel low. I find it reassuring to have ordinary life going on around me, if WaSp starts to alter his life to accommodate me I just feel worse because then I am guilty too.
I tend to watch WaSp play computer games a lot, that way I am distracted and he is doing what he wants to do without me having to take part, plus I still feel involved. Things I can share in without making an effort work the best.
Monty has gone off back to his family with a tummy full of peanut butter! The hole is blocked now and we can't hear any scratching so all's well that ends well. I still miss him a little.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

WaS would your landlord let you have pet rats?
Pyxis - who knew a tiny piece of surgical tape could be so effective? Managed to keep it on all night and my app registered only one tiny snore, and me saying hello to DA dog when he jumped on to the bed.
As for the chugger debate a relative does it for a living. They are paid based on how many dds they sign up to. They work for an agency and cover a range of charities. The actual charity doesn't get much money from this as the agency fee and wages are pretty high. He makes a good living from it and can't seem to understand why people might not want to sign up. Recently they went to a very poor area with a high rate of unemployment, addiction and disabled people and he was annoyed that very few people would want to sign up. I pointed out that the area had cheap housing and a high proportion of people on benefits and most people only have basic bank or post office accounts for their benefits to be paid into as a lot of people there have never worked at all . He was annoyed by this saying they should still sign up for a dd to whatever charity he was pushing. I pointed out that a lot of people would be reliant on food banks and didn't have £10 a month spare. He didn't seem to undertand this. They're taught that the only thing that matters is getting people to sign up and they don't care how vulnerable the person they stop is; the more vulnerable the better. Also, he's never said this specifically but from what I can work out, your name goes on some kind of list so that other chuggers can harrass you at home for other charities. It's scummy.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Tis is the regular repost ........(The thread etiquette will be reposted every ten or so pages.)
........:starmod:......................................................................:starmod:.....................
Here is the suggested THREAD ETIQUETTE. By following this etiquette, all posters, whether new or existing, will feel safe, unpressured and respected..
!!!But first...............please be assured..................................................................******It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. (See below about penguins). In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.******
- This is a thread for support. We have discovered some good friends on here, but we promise always to welcome and include new people, and not to be cliquey.
- People may make suggestions to help each other, and might even ask if the suggestions were helpful or have been carried out, but we'll really try not to nag each other or put too much pressure on.
- The normal board rules about sexism, racism, homophobia etc. apply, but if we are careful we should be able to discuss almost anything without breaching board rules - so far we have discussed subjects ranging from child abuse to incontinence!
-If someone thinks that too much pressure is being applied, they can post the trigger word PENGUIN and flag up the fact that they believe there's a potential for someone feeling too nagged to do something. ANYONE could post PENGUIN if they felt there was a danger that suggestions were being enforced too much.
Similarly, if they want to discuss something that might be a trigger for some people, then posting PENGUIN would be a warning that what follows in the whiteout might be a trigger.
- So, if you think something might be a PENGUIN, please post something like the green bit which follows.
"Possible penguin about.........(Type of Trigger)" The trigger might be:- child abuse, marital abuse/violence, paranoia, stalkers, death, etc. (It's important to indicate the type of trigger, so that people can avoid reading it if they need to).
Then, when you post, repost the word PENGUIN above the discussion. Then post the penguiny bit in white! And the phrase END OF PENGUIN when you have finished.
It will look like this. You will be able to see the white text if you highlight it or if you quote it, (so please don't 'quote' a post containing a penguin onto the thread!)
(Harmless example follows here):-
PENGUIN
This is a penguin. A nasty, crotch biting penguin (CBP).
It isn't really! So you can look.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozGTv0hxhpc[/url]
END OF PENGUIN
(NB on a tenth-page repost of the etiquette, you can see these penguiny words because they are white against the green 'quote' background. On a normal post, they will be white against white, and so won't be seen on the thread.)
IMPORTANT: It has been ascertained that some posters to this thread have found that there are certain subjects which act as triggers, precipitating a worsening of their condition.
To protect these posters, you are respectfully requested NOT to discuss these subjects on this thread:-
Religion. (Please note: it is recognised that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and we respect those beliefs. It is only because of the fact that religion does act as a trigger for some posters, that we exclude it from discussion.)
N.B. Please don't even mention the name of the religion.
The afterlife. The reason for this is explained in this thread by one poster, and there will be others for whom this is a trigger.
We ask and thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
.........:starmod:.....................................................................:starmod:................
!!!So, to reiterate..............******It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.******
- More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.

Morning all!
ESA form update-Cautiously optimistic! There has been movement. A doctor reviewed my claim last week and sent it back to the DWP. I do not need a face to face assessment. The very lovely man told me on the phone that if he was me he would relax a little! He said if there was any doubt that they didn't have enough evidence to continue my claim that they would have sent me an appointment. It is still the DWP's decision whether to grant benefit but he said I can be pretty sure that the medical centre have said the claim should continue without change.
