Hope you get it sorted melly. Is there any sort of emergency fund near you - maybe via a local community centre, church or similar? Am just desperately trying to think of somewhere you might be able to access emergency funds.

In related news - I had a spider curled up in my knickers this morning! I bent down to pick them up after getting out of the shower, didn't have my glasses on so though it was a bit of thread or elastic. Soon realised it wasn't, and screamed so loud that it's a wonder people in London couldn't hear me!

I occasionally read Viz as a young 'lady'. I therefore have a slightly different interpretation of spider's legs and knickers, lol.

I am pleased with myself as I did get the photos sorted last night/this morning. I feel a lot happier. They look brilliant (if I say so myself) but I also really benefited from being a bit creative. (Used scrapbooking paper to mount them etc).

WaS - I think Mr JM feels a bit like that with me and films, as I hate violence so much. We have a standing joke about the Alien films (altho I have seen the first one). We love animation, though, so I will try to keep an eye out for films you'd like. xxxx
Yup, I'm another violence avoider. Can't bear it.
It's not even the blood and gore - I'm not squeamish - it's seeing human beings willingly inflicting terrible pain on other human beings. Unbearable. :(

Ha! So I was right about the wifi not working (very well) sort of....piece of P this Italian lark....I'll be fluent in a week! :rotfl: ;)
Ooh! You're well on the way, Georgie!

The thing is that, like French, the words that are Latin-based are very often similar to the formal version of the word in English, so it's often appropriate to have a guess.,

Words that end in -ion, for example:
    Information/informazione
    Station/stazione
    Situation/situazione

Plus, in Italian, almost every letter is actually pronounced, unlike in French or English, so there are no funny pronunciations to learn. The way each letter is pronounced is always the same, too, unlike in English.

In fact, if you've done French at school, you should find it easy to learn the basics of Italian.

And of course, it's a great excuse to go to Italy! :D

Calley, I can't remember what sort of work you do, but if it's a corporate-type thing, would it be better to look for a job with a very small, local business? It may not pay big bucks, but may be a lot less stressful and more enjoyable?
Being a big fish in a small pond might suit you better. I know it did me! :)

For 'cats' you could superimpose 'pets'.

I had a spider curled up in my knickers this morning!

I've gone shuddery just at the thought of that!!! Even if they'd been my favourite pair of pants I think they would've ended up being launched out of the window, never to be worn again!!
