WaSp and I have had a very funny day going through every film we own working out what I can watch. I must have said no hundreds of times, in the end WaSp was saying no before he even told me the titles. The criteria being firstly nothing cute, kind or fluffy dies, no monsters die, no people die unless it is in a horror or sci-fi (because they don't seem real to me) and we don't get to know them that well, nothing about OCD because it triggers mine, minimal violence outside of horror films, mental health is fine but no sad endings, apocalypse films are fine providing we don't get to know anyone who dies (wipe out planets and cities by all means, just don't introduce me to anyone who lives there!).
Out of over 300 films I have come out with about 40 that I can safely watch (there are a lot of animated films in there). That is more than I thought we would have so I currently have entertainment! Having said that today I watched We Need to Talk About Kevin which is very disturbing but very fascinating. It is an interesting view of someone's mental health problems and the possible causes. There is very little violence shown until the end but it is still chilling.
Don't worry I will tell everyone soon what has hurt me. It isn't even a big deal in the grand scheme of things, just big for me so I will be fine! Do you ever feel that if you look at something directly it will hurt more? So you leave it as a small, nagging pool of pain at the back of your mind so that it doesn't feel real? I feel like that but I will be brave soon and spit it out.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Sorry this is late. Had AmDram this evening, then went straight to bed and fell asleep with the TV on!
Have woken up now!
Today I went to the Colosseum, the Palatine and the Forum. For me, the ancient buildings are very interesting; the possibility of seeing and knowing how the Romans used to live, two thousand years ago, is incredible.
I think that the photos will have to wait until I get back home. The wifi here isn't working well.
I know what you mean about people speaking English to you! It always drives me mad! Especially when I explain that I'm there to practice my Italian and could they please speak to me in Italian, and then they still reply in English! Then there's this surreal situation where I'm talking to them in Italian (or at least trying to), and they're talking to me in English! Grr!
Still, at least you're giving it a go, Ono! Persevere!
I shouldn't worry about the passato remoto. As far as I'm aware, it's not used so much in speech in the northern half of Italy, more in the Deep South, and these threads are more like you're speaking to us!onomatopoeia99 wrote: »I'm actually not Melly, I have very little confidence in my Italian and panic when there's a word I don't know or don't understand. So even after five years of study, I panic a lot.
Hahaha! When I try to speak it, I'm all over the place! Can't remember words, use wrong tenses, genders, agreements etc! When you write it, you have more thinking time!
It does get easier after a few days; it's just a shame that the holidays are always so short. You're just getting into it when it's time to come home!
Any luck with the turtle?(I just lurve spiders!)

MessedUp, you've been very brave, but you've shown Swain you trust him enough to confide in him, and that's quite a compliment. :T
WaS, oh dear.(((((((((WaS)))))))))))
It obviously isn't a small thing, for it to hurt so much. :A(I just lurve spiders!)

I did survive babysitting my nephews. what I thought was going to be an hour and half ish turned in nearly 4 hrs :rotfl:
Yesterday was busy took husband food shopping. And somehow managed to cut myself on a trolley yep thats me LOL!!!
Then babysitting and then a friend came around as well. Flipping heck I don't normally do that much in a week let alone a day
Anyway a slightly more relaxed day today. Going out for coffee.
And looks like I have two dates friday/saturday. Never been in such demand. But I am of the mind not fussed. I am sure they are all lovely blokes. But I am finally finding contentment at last on my own. I do have the odd wobble. But I slowly coming to terms with stuff and that I need to take control and go for for what I want. And sod everyone else.
Anyway hope everyone has a good day. take care and catch you all again soon.
Yours

Sounds like a great attitude calley. You're an amazing, whole, lovely person - if someone else comes along that appreciates that, great. But don't waste your time on people that don't add anything to your life.

wooo! to calley - be happy with yourself and you will prove irresistible to males!
WaS - I think Mr JM feels a bit like that with me and films, as I hate violence so much. We have a standing joke about the Alien films (altho I have seen the first one). We love animation, though, so I will try to keep an eye out for films you'd like. xxxxEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
As I was told esa would go in to my account as normal today
Anyone understand why they meant tomorrow
As a recall and same day payment takes a couple of hours and I called at 8am anyone understand why that might be mid afternoon.
I needed to treat first person with respect apparently, he didn't like me asking how mid afternoon which is closer to 7 hours can be a couple of hours, or how this is as normal0 -
Gotta cancel Coventry can't guarantee we can get back.
Absolutely furious0
