Hello everyone, it has been a very long time; I just felt the need to see how WaS and WaSp are?

We have managed to keep covid-free fortunately, and are hopefully beginning to recover a bit financially. Littlewing is desperate for a dog, so I think that will be our next big commitment but not this year.

Hope everyone is well and coping okay. I haven’t caught up on the thread yet, although I know it has been a while.

Take care, everyone. Would love to hear from you all.

  • Hi, haven't posted in ages partly as I thought the thread was dead but will give it a go.

Just moved to a much nicer property, new carpets, minutes walk from a railway line, a river and not much further for the lake and neighbours are pensioners who are quiet as neighbours and very friendly when I see them, and its a quiet road and no street lamp shining in my window!

Just need to get curtain poles put up and unpack now really.

Only downside is the buses finish at 6pm and the route despite being same distance to town goes all around the area so a 5 minute car journey would be 15-20 on this so means have to wake much earlier in morning on office days.
Hi, Your new place sounds lovely, has your mental health improved? Just checked the thread to see if anyone had posted it used to be very busy. I would love to know how WaS  is keeping.
  • I'm still around.  Lockdown was actually good for me, not needing to commute meant my energy levels were higher and weekends weren't spend recovering to be able to face the next week in the office.  Going back to work has been a real struggle, I've been feeling like I did in the years leading up to me being hospitalised and diagnosed with MS.

Finally talked to my employer about it and while he's very into people being in the office, he's agreed to me WFH 3 days a week and with me being in control of changing that number if I need to.  Combined with that I've had a letter from the neurology consultant following having new MRIs of my head and spine and he's suggested "disease modifying therapies", which in this case means the most serious ones on the MS trust website that suppress the immune system. So I have that decision to make, and really need to understand what the real-world consequences of having a suppressed immune system will be.  I understand in principle, but the level of risk I have no idea about.  Appointment with a specialist nurse in a couple of weeks to talk about options so will see what that brings.

Anxiety remains a problem, many things don't get done because thinking about dealing with people stresses me out too much.

  • Hello!  I'm still here too!

Life is going pretty well, although DH isn't too well (long term digestive problems which the NHS is treating by more or less ignoring him, on top of his neuro problems).  I have a new job and am now working for Oddsmonkey.com 24 hours a week.  It's VERY new so I am still in my induction period.  Enjoying it, though!  Hope all is well with everyone - the posts above look pretty positive! - and yes, I would love to hear from WaS as well.  Love to all xxx

Hi hbs and everyone, hope you are doing well as well.  I see I posted about starting immunosuppressants three years ago, it tok about six months before I started the first they tried and I'm currently on my third different one as the first two I absolutely could not tolerate, I'll spare you the side effects though!  The current one I can live with OK but the hospital is concerned it is working too well and I have less immune system than they are comfortable with, so who knows what will happen next.

I'm still WFH 3 days a week and generally coping with the anxiety OK.  All the best to you all.

Would so love to hear from WaS! Just seemed to abruptly disappear, I have often thought about all the people on here. Good luck to you all  :)
