AO - how wonderful that you have come so far! Sorry that you are feeling lonely in your new location, but this too will pass (Nextdoor is great for making new connections at the moment). I wouldn't recommend a coffee though - how does that reconcile with social distancing? Really great that things have progressed so well for you though, a truly inspirational story.

In 2019, I posted under the username Stoke about how my life was falling to pieces, I was bordering on suicidal depression, in a series of posts that were more or less cries for help. In doing so, I had several people PM me privately. One of those, a female roughly the same age, I built a friendship with and continued to talk until late last year when I went MIA, after my life fell to pieces.
Now more than ever, I could do with reconnecting with that person as I need someone to talk to. I don't want to talk about the last 6 months or so publicly and there are reasons I've not been able to access the forums but MSE admins are not willing to let me regain access to my old account which I lost access to when the forum migration took place, I was unable to get onto the forums at the time for reasons I'd rather not disclose.
If that person still uses the forum, please contact me. You know who you are. I don't remember whether it was this thread or a different thread where we started talking, but I could really do with talking to that person as a confidant. Fingers crossed.

HI all. Not sure why but since I started working from home I've stopped logging on to forums even though I have more free time, only found myself here today as I've been updating every online account I have everywhere as I'm losing my email address at the end of the month, after having it more than half my life. Have done dozens, still have loads to get through an that's just the ones I can remember.
I've been doing OK with lockdown mostly, not having to commute is a plus, Zoom is a minus. I've never liked the telephone, but video-conferencing, or the thought of it, has triggered a couple of anxiety attacks recently and I managed to upset my mother by telling her I wouldn't join a family quiz night on zoom. She couldn't understand that it would exhaust me and run the risk of triggering an attack, which ultimately having to explain all that did.
I booked three short holidays for this spring as I couldn't take one last year. Managed to take the first, a long weekend in Belgium, just before international travel stopped being a thing, but the other two (a week in Italy and a few days in Yorkshire) got cancelled, so I'm on a week's leave dedicated to doing nothing at the moment, and am mostly succeeding!

Oh dekaspace, the very very best to you and your father. Do keep us updated, but take heart - stroke treatment is much improved since I worked in the field 10 years or so ago. Hopefully you will be allowed to see him soon xxx

Dad sent home after 2 days as they had a lot of strokes within a few days, shame they forgot his medication! And then wanted him to DRIVE back in despite telling him he shouldn't.Has an appointment next week but want him to drive 10 miles for it, but says he won't get expenses as 10 miles takes less than 30 minutes to do, he lives in a village and I know from experience it takes 10-15 minutes at least to get into town, thats with no to little traffic and not stopped at any lights and when in town theres multiple lights that can take 2-5 minutes each to pass and again without traffic or lights id say 15 minutes or so to drive, again its a further 4 miles from edge of town.0

It does sometimes go awol, but is useful for hiding things you don't want people to see until they click on it.
Just remember that if you quote a post with a spoiler in it, it will reveal the text of the spoiler, in the same way as the whiteout would be revealed in a quote.
I'll take a screenshot of the thing to click on, as I don't know what it's called.
Edit........
Like this........This is a sample spoiler.
