Hello...........it's been a long time and I just popped in to say hi, hello, hugs n squishes.
It was lovely to see that many of the old crew are still here and supporting everyone.
    Be safe one and all.

  • Haven't posted in a while due to the arms not working (which is annoying as it helped my mental health as somewhere to go, wish site staff realised that!)
If the scales I used on Friday were accurate (decades old) I have put on 3 or 4 STONE since lockdown began, have never put on that much in my life, sure eating maybe 1 more take away a week and more sweeties but Im also replacing my daily subway with things like tinned beans, tinned meat etc so Id assume a similar amount overall.
I obviously have put on weight but I assumed about 2 stone not 3 or 4!
MH is so so, I have been back at work for almost 2 months but my neighbour upstairs despite me getting on well with them for past month has been a nightmare for noise, I assume as kids are back as the schoolbus stops outside my home and she brings round all the parents and kids after for a few hours like previous tenant.
But I work from home and it noise is so loud made worse by laminate that if I use webcam it picks up the bangs and crashes and people who hear me are shocked and think im getting door kicked in!

Also so loud that pictures that have been on the wall for 3 or 4 years have fallen down, or items from cupboards, items on side fallen on their face etc.  Sure its a hour or two a day but spread out and many times even past 10pm at night when I am in bed trying to sleep.

I don't know whats worse, the noise when I am working or when I am relaxing on a day off as it means I get little peace.
  • For those who don't follow my thread time to do a bit of an update

    Er
I left in July as the abuse escalated.
I have a 2nd interview for a role I really want, have discovered I have friends and reconnected with my brothers.
Ex had my dogs put too sleep.
Had lots of virtual support from people I consider my friends.
    I'm coping OK
Got upset today after seeing a Froo playing vid but managed OK.
  • Sorry to be slow responding.
dekaspace - reassure me - it's the MSE Arms which is closed, not your limbs which aren't working, yes?  I got really worried for a moment there!   I agree... soooo stupid if they have closed that.  I have opened an online pub for my tribe (no point in inviting folks here, it's families who have literally known each other for decades, so the goss wouldn't be interesting).  It's not my Zoom account, sadly, so I couldn't recreate one here.

Melly - your post sounds actually really positive, although I am v sorry to hear about the dogs - what a mean thing to do.  But they will be playing in fields across the bridge, now.  What's a Froo?

I was wondering how WaS is getting on. All the best to you and WaSp , if you see this.

I hope everyone is coping as well as you can. I think everything is pretty rough for so many people so here are some hummingbird good wishes for anyone that needs them.

  • I forgot to update about me, I did put on quite a bit of weight during lockdown and after getting bloodtests about 2 months ago was told my blood sugar level is borderline diabetic, I guess this is mostly due to during lockdown my sweetie intake went from a few times a week, to at LEAST once a day.
At least im still working but the blood sugar issues and the cold and dark nights mean I have been late a few times (its work from home) but bosses are sympathetic thankfully.

AO - how wonderful that you have come so far!  Sorry that you are feeling lonely in your new location, but this too will pass (Nextdoor is great for making new connections at the moment).  I wouldn't recommend a coffee though - how does that reconcile with social distancing?  Really great that things have progressed so well for you though, a truly inspirational story.
    Hey Jobs,
Still about.... still working away, still crossing the country to collect the children on a Friday & Sunday (640 miles ~ nice). The divorce is now complete, and the financial consent order was received 24th Dec 2020, so a nice Christmas Present. Now we wait for the ex-wife to re-mortgage the house, and then i can buy. In the short term, i plan to rent nearer the children and start my "new life".

Mental Health has taken a right kicking the past few months, continous arguments about the "finances", threats & threats of blackmail to force me to transfer the "house over" or she would change the agreement of consent order. She had all the power, the house, the children etc... well hopefully that will soon change.

I have a medical review on the 6th Jan 2021 and my final counselling session. Actually unsure if to go back on Anti-Depressants for 6 months or so to swap the positive/negative mood swings, mainly due to living alone, not knowing anyone in the area (except meeting people in work), and COVID-19 Tier 4 restrictions removing anything that I "did do for fun".

Moving into 2021, I am Single, i couldnt handle "the relationship with the gf", everything was good on day 1, day 2, but by day 3 or 4 of being physically together, the feelings change and i start to pick flaws / start to disengage and want my own space; this could be due to a number of things....but we could probably be friends one day, as we are very similar. Sadly, she could not "accept" my position / feelings / the end of the relationship, the usual comments of "you've used me etc" have not helped :( .

  • I have missed so much. I got very overwhelmed during the pandemic and didn't really log onto anywhere much.

I hope you wonderful people are all doing well. Lots of love!

  • Nice to hear from you HBS.  I was mostly fine, working from home suited me very well and the only things that stressed me were the panic buyers at the start and being unable to see friends.  I socialize very rarely as it is (often less than once a month) but being completely unable to was a blow.

Back in the office since the start of last week, our employer sent an email round saying that since covid was now under control he wanted us all back in.  When I recounted this to my zoom Italian evening class (in italian) one of the others who is a GP just laughed at "under control" as she is working 13 hours days trying to see all the patients :o .
