I thought I would post something that made me smile today.
While in the hospital reception after WaSp's consultant appointment a woman ran up to me and linked her arm through mine announcing "Isn't everyone stunning? Look at that woman over there, she is so beautiful!" This went on for several minutes with her speech becoming faster and faster. Eventually I managed to get her to tell me her name and she said she was being treated for Bipolar on one of the wards. I slowly walked her back to her ward and she told every person we passed how amazing they were. She was very, very manic but so happy and loving. She gave me a big hug at her ward entrance and ran off happily. It totally made my day.

Can I have some good thoughts for tomorrow morning please? I am having my exploratory surgery and it will be my first time under general anaesthetic. I am panicking quite a lot but my consultant has assured me that they will give me something when I arrive which will mean that I won't care about anything at all. I am hoping he is right.

WaS you will be fine it is just like going to sleep,people have ops every day.I have to have my cataracts done which you have to stay awake for and am dreading it,keep putting off making the appointment,if they would put me to sleep I  would have it tomorrow

I hope the cataract surgery goes well, Gemini. I can understand why you are putting it off, I would be too!
My surgery went fine other than the fact that they caught my lip with the breathing tube so now I have a swollen, bruised bottom lip! It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. They removed some polyps and sent them off for testing but they didn't feel that there was any problem, I am a bit sore but otherwise totally fine. Now we wait 3 months and retest my blood to see if the problems have resolved themselves. Fingers crossed!

Brilliantly done, WaS.  Hoping the removed polyps will resolve all the problems!  (And just think of your lip as sexylip lol_ x

Sorry, I missed this when you first posted but I'm glad it went well (sore lip aside) and I hope everything resolves itself.

Thank you both, I am fine now other than having a sore lip. I saw my consultant today and he will see me every month for the next 6 months to make sure there are no problems. The type of coil that they have given me can cause migraines, adult acne and depression. Considering I already have adult acne, suffer with migraines and the depression speaks for itself they have to make sure nothing gets worse. I am being very well looked after though!
