I took some up in a flask for WaSp, he laughed in delight and held my hand the whole time he happily drank it. It's the little things.

    WaS,

It is the little things that make the difference. I use to take my husband in things like jaffa cakes and jelly babies. He would eat some and then they would want to test his blood sugar :rotfl:. Also when a bit more mobile and he could transfer from bed to a wheel chair I would take him for a stroll. Often down to the canteen and he would eat my dinner for me :rotfl:another reason for getting off the ward is his ex use to work there and we had to talk about private stuff.

Changing the subject think its getting to AM that he can't do stuff. he is finding it hard being at home and not seeing people. For me I do like staying at home. Going to walk the dog in a min.

    Everyone take care.

Calley - do you drive? Could you take him out somewhere?

I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but DS2 has been studying abroad in Canada since last year and is due back next week. At the moment he is on a field trip in America, and a few days ago he sent me a message on Facebook messenger with "Xx" and then another saying he was missing me and looking forward to coming home. Straight off I was worrying about him because he never says stuff like this, DH was saying "Omg can't you just be happy that he cares and misses you?" I did message and say was it nice there and the people friendly, and he said yes everyone is really nice etc. So it's probably just me over reacting.

I checked the flight details he sent me for coming home and I've realised that there isn't enough time for him to make one of the flights after getting of the other. I emailed him because the flights had been changed and I'm not sure who by. If it was air Canada then they must put it right without charge I've told him.

I'm trying to do like my therapist said and break the problem into manageable chunks, so I looked up alternative flights in case he changed them and emailed screen shots to him. He is very disorganised (I know I've mentioned THAT before!) so I hope he gets it sorted now rather that the day before.

(Hugs) to anyone who needs them today xx

    Dandy-Candy,

Yes I do drive. I am trying to get us out some days. Going to the woods today to walk the dog in a min.

I also think its because he is active doing stuff and now he can't do it. And he is use to being around people most of the day. Now its just me and the dog :rotfl:

Calley - I'm sure you and the dog are good company! How about a pub quiz night if there's one nearby?

I got a message from DS2 asking if I could try changing his flight. I wasn't sure I would be able to as the ticket is in his name on his credit card etc, but I managed it - I'm greatly relieved! The airline had changed the original flight because it was on one of those boeings that are now grounded, so there was no charge for changing it :)

    Dandy-Candy,

We did one on friday with some friends. Did not come last but had fun.

I think part of it is because a friend was going to come and see and take him out for a drink and they had to cancel as they got called in to work.

HBS, don't beat yourself up over it, sometimes you fall off the wagon, its a slip up. I havent done it in 4 years now but i still get urges, and its not easy to get past them. Out of the past 11 years ive relied on it as a coping mechanism for the majority of that. Tomorrow is a fresh start. *MASSIVE HUGS*

How are AM as WaSp doing?

    Penguin

3 years ago we moved into this house. DH and his sister had inherited it from their dad, and I used the money I inherited when my mum died to buy his sister out. Rather than sell our old home we rented it out to DS1 and some of his friends as a house share. They have kept it immaculate but are moving out on June 1st. DH was meant to handle everything but hadn't got around to it so rang me while I was at Tesco and asked if I could ring the local agents.

I really struggled to drive home, it's daft but I have such a dread of interacting with people especially on important things. I did make the call and now I feel like curling in a corner. I'm dreading DH asking me to call into the agents, show them around.

I struggle with this stuff and I know I should help as I'm at home all day and he's out at work. I feel very much when I meet strangers that they think I'm weird or an idiot. This stems from my sister always telling me people were talking about me behind my back and saying to her "what's wrong with your sister?" and I was weird/fat etc. With hindsight I know a lot if not all of this she made up, but I always have that seed of doubt. I've never had a job or and education beyond gcse which I didn't do well in. I know it's not healthy but I would really rather stay indoors never having to deal or see anyone other than my DH and kids.

    Dandy-Candy,

Firstly massive hugs. Secondly re: your penguin get it totally. I hate talking to people on the phone. And my old job was on the phone as customer services

I struggling dealing with people face to face as well it has to be on my rules. hence why it seems like we are anti social. Don't get me wrong are friends our are lovely. But its hard work for me. Today I went in to the dentist to see if I was still registered and get a appointment. Other wise I would had to phone and that gives a lot of stress. Even though a lot of companies I phone don't know me and I will never meet them in person. Can't give what I am going to do much thought as other wise I shy away from it. Have to just do it.

    Penguin end

Dentist only have to wait until tuesday. Thought I was no longer registered as not been in about 3 years!!!! I am feeling a bit worn out today. Tomorrow AM is off to see a friend of his so that gets him out and I will be off to see my stepdaughter and her LO :j

Everyone take care and hugs and squishes and handshakes all around. To the MIA's I do still think about you and hope you are doing well.

Calley - I hope AM had an enjoyable time with his friend and you had a good few hours break.

WaS - how is WaSp getting on?

HBS - thinking of you, i hope you are staying strong ((hugs))

Im debating going back on my meds. I was last on them in December i think, and i hate taking them. Sometimes i can pick myself up again if i hold out a few days. I am due on at the end of the week (sorry if tmi) and my emotions always go wobbly a few days before.

I know when i sit and think logically that there are a couple of things stressing me currently. I’ve been having pelvic pain on and off the last few weeks which is giving me health anxiety. My mum was very ill in my childhood so i have a dread of getting seriously ill (not that anyone enjoys it!), so im sure that is triggering this wobbly moment too.
Also my DS2 had a flight yesterday, hes taking two more today, and two more tomorrow, so im anxious about that. The up side is he will be home on tuesday morning so i get to hug him again!

Ive been distracting myself by sniffing lavender essential oil and watching youtube videos on different dog breeds, and that has really got me smiling, especially one on english bull terriers as i have a soft spot for them although ive never owned one.

Hugs to those in need. Sorry for the long rambling post xx

Great news that WaSP is doing well WaS. Sending you hummingbird best wishes. I have just got caught up on all the news.

I agree that some distraction is a great idea in hospital - maybe even just some puzzle magazines? Ones like TakeABreak have competitions you can enter so maybe it would appeal to WaSP to try and win some cash or a holiday? They might have a trolley that visits the wards that he could buy such a magazine from?
