Just looking in as I saw there were new posts.

WaS: my therapist told me life with MH problems is like a yoyo, and it's very true. I'm sorry you are on a down slide right now. You know we are all here for you and sending you hugs and strength x

Hi to the new people :j

Mudgekin: I'm one for splurging on craft materials (knitting) and got £100 of yarn delivered last week even though I still have masses. I find my knitting very soothing and I love joining online groups, looking at other people's work and tutorials. I've improved a lot in the last year. I don't know what craft you do, but maybe you could try some new techniques too? Hobbies are a great distraction when outside life becomes challenging.

SSDD23: If your other half isn't a great listener this is a great place to come for support, everyone is so kind here.

Anti depressant has been increased to 30mg but no where does 10mg tablets so need to go back to the doctors to geta different prescription. Told my gp how bad the asessment was and asked for another, got told i have to be re-reffered and they can only do that if i go majorly up or down so thats not an option. Don;t reallt feel like doing anything. Im on holiday from work this week but as always the week my rent is due i'm skint so wont be doing anything (thank god for netflix is all im saying)

On the one plus side my debt is now down to under £500 and i should have it paid off by summer.

Sorry ive not been around....had a major dose of paranoia about my posting on mse and the wrong people seeing my posts and my tendacy to overshare when manic.

  • Can I have some good thoughts for WaSp please? He was admitted to hospital today because his kidneys have shut down and he has such severe anaemia that they are sure there is internal bleeding somewhere. They will run a lot more tests tomorrow to try to find out why this has happened. In the meantime they are giving him constant IV fluids to try to kick-start his kidneys and he will have several blood transfusions.

I went with him to the hospital as hospitals tend to make me feel safe and was relatively ok until I said goodnight to WaSp when I had a huge anxiety attack at the thought of trying to get myself home and ended up running around empty hospital corridors in floods of tears at midnight. A lovely paramedic found me and called me a taxi and stayed with me until it arrived. He even gave me a blanket to hide under.

Somehow I need to visit WaSp, especially with how serious this is. It would help if my own mental health hadn't collapsed. However, this can't be about me right now, WaSp's needs come first.

Oh WaS, so sorry to hear about WaSP. Hardly surprising that you had a meltdown, with all that going on. I do hope they find a nice easy bleed that they can shut off and get him better very soon xxxx Do you have anyone in Wales who can support you with visiting?

Welcome to SSDD23. Just a thought - have you ever considered that there might be elements of autism in your make-up? I think we all have some of this, but the reason I'm suggesting it is that I've got a friend who has always struggled with life, had lots of MH problems etc, but was finally diagnosed with autism at the age of 45. And one of the things she always felt guilty about was not being able to cope with life because everything was too loud, etc. (Which sounds like what you're describing, I mean). And she feels SO MUCH better now she knows there's a reason for this. Just a suggestion (from someone with lots of autistic friends who knows it can be a gift, as well as a curse!)

WaS, wishing WaSp the speediest of recoveries and I hope that you manage to find a way to look after you as well.

Massive hugs to all who need them.

WaS as a hummingbird who doesn't land here often I'm sending love, light and positive vibes to yourself , WaSp and all who are struggling at the moment. I light a candle each evening for those in real life and online who need a little light sent their way in dark times and it is hoped a tiny light from the North may let you know you are not alone .
You have your good friends here and others like myself who keep you and so many others in mind . You've come so far from Worried and Scared and I'm pleased you are now living somewhere where you are happy. Hoping you'll have WaSp home with you soon .

It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • Thank you for all the well wishes, it means a lot. WaSp is being transported today to the Cardiff University Hospital because he needs to be on a renal unit with specialist care. His kidneys haven't restarted functioning so they need to start dialysis. At this point they still don't know what's caused this or if his kidneys will ever function again. If they don't then he will need dialysis 3 times a week for the rest of his life.

This poses a problem for me, Cardiff is 45 miles away and as I can't use public transport the only way for me to get there is in a taxi. It is going to cost a fortune and I am not very happy at the thought of being stuck in a city I have never been to alone, I have only just become brave enough to make it 50 yards down the road. Somehow I am going to have to manage it even if I float around on an extra dose of anti-psychotics. I am hating my mental illness right now, I just want to be there for WaSp.
