Hope everyone is OK. I'm starting to feel like the worst is possibly behind me!! Although there's still a lot up in the air :)

For those feeling awful, as low as can be.... there can be light at the end of the tunnel.

So glad you're feeling a bit better, Stoke! :T

  • Home, have to go back for further tests as an outpatient then see the consultant again in about six weeks where he hopes to be able to give me a definite diagnosis - he said he wasn't certain yet so I could carry on driving until he was as I am not so impared as to make it a problem. Very glad to sleep in my own bed last night, and to be able to change my clothes! I don't think GPs realise what "go straight to the hospital from here, don't drive" actually means to someone that lives alone and has no family nearby and no-one with access to their home if the stay is going to be more than overnight.

In hospital I kept getting asked "who do you live with, what family do you have nearby". No-one and none were not the correct answers ...

I really identify with that, Ono.

Some time ago, I got a small hold-all and put into it things that I might need urgently if I were rushed into hospital. Toiletries, pyjamas, brush, paper, pen, undies, socks, etc etc.
There's a label on it....."Hospital Bag". I keep it at the top of my stairs in a prominent place.
2 neighbours have keys, so in an emergency I could ring them and ask them to bring that bag in.

I don't have much to do with those neighbours, really, but in an emergency I could ask them to fetch the bag.

Being ill is the worst thing about being on one's own, both from the practicalities point of view, as you have found out, and from the 'just needing a hug' point of view.

    So, have another hug....... ((((((((((((((((Ono)))))))))))))))))))

I was about to do my usual unsolicited advice and positivity not sure it's what you want to hear at the moment so instead I'm thinking of you.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Drained last week or two, got the cold/flu again on top of that I found that former friend of mine who got in serious trouble with the law was in local paper, turns out what he did was far more serious than I thought. On top of that the junkies upstairs are back up to their old tricks, jamming door open 24/7 and if someone closes it they ring peoples buzzers at all hours to get in, had it 11pm at weekend and one morning a junkie saw me through my window who wanted in, as I went to toilet I heard my window getting thumped and "can you let us in" on loop shouted, then my buzzer rang for about 15 minutes!

Still no start date for job, which means I have to go for ESA medical Thursday at 9am!!!
