Soooooooooo i've had a fun week. Kicked off by thinking i'd lost my debit card so i duely cancelled it.....only to find it in my sodding purse the next day  on the plus side to having no access to my bank account i've at least not spent any money this week!

Mood is......so so...maybe stable...somewhere in between, not up or down, just sort of steady..whihc is good..i think. I a bit wary of saying im stable as i havent been all year so this may take getting used to.

My goald this year was to pay pff my overdraft. Its gone and i've only got £850 out of £1500 to pay back to Swain then the saving for our own place can begin.

  • Well done on the finances, MU! You are really making progress and I can't wait to hear when the real saving (for your own place) begins :)

    Well done MU.

Not much to say this end. Things are chugging along here.

Xmas day is sorted. I know some will think this is strange but my ex is coming to us for xmas day. As his children have their own families and children so makes it difficult. If its a nice day we are all off to the coast and having lunch when get back. If its rubbish then we are going hunker down and watch films in a nice cosy living room.

Not sure if I mentioned before. But the divorce paperwork has all gone off. So by the end of January I should be divorced. Just hope AM does not feel pressured that he has to propose to me. Just thought it was time to get it out the way.

Remember christmas is what you want. if you stay in pjs all day eating ice cream from the tub with xmas films on, who cares as long as its what you want to do. A couple of times me and ex never got dressed I cooked dinner and we ate it in out dressing gowns :rotfl:

Do what makes you happy not others. Don't get stressed about it and feel it has to be prefect. it does not.

    I don't think it's strange, I think it's lovely.

We've got all of IzHe's family staying with us for Christmas and my family coming for the day as well. I'm trying not to stress too much but the idea of doing dinner for 10, when we've all got different likes/requirements is going to be interesting...

I also have mixed feelings about his niece and nephew (5 and 8) being with us. It's going to be fantastic to see how excited they're going to be on Christmas morning and I've loved shopping for silly stocking fillers but I've been having quite bad "childless" wobbles recently and am worried that seeing what I'm missing out on is going to make it worse. With any luck they'll be absolutely monstrous brats and I'll be relieved that I only have to deal with it for a couple of days :rotfl:

Haven't heard from relative in a few weeks so good sign! What is stressful though is I cannot get a welfare rights appointment before the New Year, but my health assessment form is due in by end of December.

What I got a small sense of accomplishment from earlier was the bulb in kitchen light went, and when I went to remove the old one the metal piece came off the glass piece so I couldn't do it, and in process of trying to remove it with pliers the fitting came off wall, along with the wire and the part that was screwed in.

In the end I spent about 15 more minutes eventually getting the metal part out, looked at the fitting and realised it was simple, just 2 earth wires screwed into a connector almost like the insides of a common plug, after waiting a bit I turned power off to everywhere apart from living room sockets so I could use a lamp, went up on ladder and reattached the fitting, the hardest part which ttook about another 20 minutes was because the fitting was of course upside down I had 2 small screws to put in to hold the metal piece in place, no matter what I did they kept falling down, I have big fingers so hard to get them into at same time, in the end I remembered a old trick I used years ago, put a tiny drop of weak adhesive on end of screwdriver, held it or 2 minutes so it was sticky but not hard, gently put the screw into place and tightened, worked first time so did it for the 2nd, put power on and everything was ok!.

Pleased and got a sense of well done (as its a council flat, saves calling out council too, and costing taxpayers money), still it was over a hour of my time wasted!
  • Hi all, how is everyone?

I am not having a good day. I have to have a second PIP assessment. Despite the last one lasting an hour and 45 minutes the assessor apparently didn't get enough information so they need to do it again. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? They say it's nothing I have done, just that she didn't gather the information they needed. I want to scream.
