Yet Parcelmonkey blames the courier directly. Go to twitter and search for parcelmonkey. I can't post links / screenshots on this forum yet unfortunately, as I do not have a high enough post count
That why i never use Parcelmonkeys and always use parcel2go, You can get help from them. i recently had to use them to return a faulty item i received and the seller i got it from was messing the courier (UK Mail) about, P2G helped me as much as they could and then gave me a ref number so i can communicate with UKmail direct. after a week of the trying to deliver the parcel they had to return it to me, but could not without P2G authority and both UKmail and p2G were very helpful in getting this sorted

Point taken, don't use Parcelmonkey again. They have blocked me on twitter by the way.

How is it that a company in a first world country can get away with these illegal acts? :( I've since tweeted my local MP about this. Dailymail is next on my list at this rate

Before we all bad mouth Parcel Monkey, the current poster hasn't actually said what the problem is? Unless I missed it? People don't always read the terms and conditions too carefully.

I don't get this ^^. And no, they still have not responded as of this very moment, more than 16 hours later
There was a response to a Tweet that corresponded with the time of your posts. The fact that I can no longer see it and that you say they blocked you would suggest that was correct.

There's another thread started by ariaane here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5667571

It may well be that Parcelmonkey are a waste of space but being belligerent won't get you anywhere.

Have you submitted a claim for lost goods?

So reading the other post. They sent something to themselves in China. There was a problem in customs. It was sent back to UK. They now want their parcel back.

Tip for next time. Get your parcel back before you do a charge back against Parcel Monkey to force a refund for what you paid them.

Thanks but I have contacted my local MP who responded to me on twitter. Others have responded to the MP tweet reiterating how Parcelmonkey has no service. As I am not in the UK at the moment I have to be careful on any claims I make etc because I am not present in person to send a recorded letter / go to court etc if it gets to the point.

I do not know if the parcel is even lost - Parcelmonkey have refused to say whether it is or it isn't for 1 whole month now. They are *not* communicating which is the main problem many of their customers have.

As for labeling me as 'belligerent' after waiting 4 months for a package which the business provider failed to deliver and refuses to tell me the whereabouts of, to that I can only :) at the comment.

I'm on contract in China and understand why the Germans and the Americans are the only successful western businesesss here (FYI UK businesses fail to succeed here - and your attitude explains why - no service culture despite being a service economy).

Good luck to the citizens when Brexit is fully actioned, because businesses will choose Germany over that of the UK.

Tip taken on board. To be honest I will stick to direct courier companies in future and no longer middleman. As we all know middleman companies are much cheaper but it is all downhill when things go wrong.

I'm actually nearer to your thinking in the latter part, although there's a lot of generalisation there. EU member states are certainly more likely to claim British business than Britain retain it. That said, I know, personally, of several British companies who trade successfully in China, so to say it is "only" American and German businesses that can do it is ridiculous. Service culture is slowly changing here and I doubt Brexit will make much difference to that, although it's likely that EU funding for our major cities helped accelerate it.
My attitude, such as it has been on here, is irrelevant. I called you belligerent because that is how you came across after I offered you help. I've had no experience of Parcelmonkey, they may well be the worst company in the universe. I do have experience of dealing with companies with poor customer service (and with Parcelforce) so know of ways of getting through to them, Twitter is one.

I referred to a claim, I didn't mean a court claim, just a lost parcel claim. It looks as though you are out of time on ParcelMonkey but I would still pursue that. I would also submit one via Parcelforce (https://claims.parcelforce.com/crmselfservice/default.aspx). Their web page says if you've used a third party to submit through them but I can't see how submitting one would do you any harm and it may actually turn up the parcel.

Tweeting Parcelforce may also help. You could try pointing out to Parcelforce that their association with ParcelMonkey may be harming their reputation.

Do you know who delivers the parcel in China? It won't be Parcelforce, obviously. Finding out which other courier has handled the parcel and any other tracking numbers used may help to locate it. You would also be wise to find any depots that have handled it and contact them. Depot managers will often have more information than you can get. The parcel is undoubtedly sat in a warehouse or a van somewhere. At this stage finding your parcel may be easier than getting a claim settled.

Not sure on the rates to China but UPS via upstoday.com is quite good. No courier has exemplary customer service but UPS are certainly one of the better ones in my experience.

Looking back at my previous comment to you, I now concede it was somewhat rude, so apologies. However if you think British businesses are succeeding here in comparison to the cultural western giants, mainly the US, Germans and the French, then you are sadly mistaken.

The only somewhat successful notable British business here is Costa – and do you know how they made it here? Through taking on a Chinese partner, Daxue. Knowing Chinese nationalist sentiment they’ll buy their stake out here and kick them out of the country when they've absorbed all the knowledge they need to go it alone.

Tesco is not great here. Asos failed. B&Q failed. Nestle failed. Marks & Spencers here is failing (plus most of the Marks and Spencers shops here in Shanghai-the most westernized city in China, are practically empty whenever I’ve visited). Nestle and Rolls-Royce is struggling here.

On the other hand the other western countries which are succeeding here: IKEA (Swedish), carrefour (French – where I do most of my food shopping btw), Starbucks (Yanks), Apple (Yanks), GE doing well (Yanks again) etc etc

The startups here doing well a here and are popular NOT British particularly technology related. UK companies have no strong selling point. The Germans have great quality in their products. The Brits have neither great products (en masse) nor great after service, nor the cultural gravitas here that you think -it’s a ‘fail’ on all fronts. It’s pure national self delusion from the British English teachers here (because most Brits I’ve met here appear to be just TEFL teachers here).
