I referred to a claim, I didn't mean a court claim, just a lost parcel claim. It looks as though you are out of time on ParcelMonkey but I would still pursue that. I would also submit one via Parcelforce (https://claims.parcelforce.com/crmselfservice/default.aspx). Their web page says if you've used a third party to submit through them but I can't see how submitting one would do you any harm and it may actually turn up the parcel.

Tweeting Parcelforce may also help. You could try pointing out to Parcelforce that their association with ParcelMonkey may be harming their reputation.

Do you know who delivers the parcel in China? It won't be Parcelforce, obviously. Finding out which other courier has handled the parcel and any other tracking numbers used may help to locate it. You would also be wise to find any depots that have handled it and contact them. Depot managers will often have more information than you can get. The parcel is undoubtedly sat in a warehouse or a van somewhere. At this stage finding your parcel may be easier than getting a claim settled.

Regarding the advice above, thank you for the tip. I will put a claim through Parcelforce alone shortly and not Parcelmonkey, just to be safe…. Thank you for the website link.

As for suggesting tweeting Parcelforce, I did just that a couple of days ago. I explained to them their association with a company which treats their customers this way negatively impacts their brand. They were polite enough, but were firm in their standpoint that my contract is with Parcelmonkey and not with them – and that when I chose to go with Parcelmonkey as they were cheaper I was forfeiting the after service that direct Parcelforce customers receive…I’m not too surprised about their response, after all this is standard British customer service. As mentioned previously this country does not understand nor can it execute good customer service like other developed nations, hence one of the reasons why they are overshadowed by other businesses overseas.

As for who delivers the parcel in China, I have no clue. I paid for the parcel to be delivered to a physical address – but I was told to come to Customs Shanghai PTT (2 months later..) to pick it up- despite them saying I didn’t need to pay a customs charge….I took a couple of hours of work leave to go there in the morning – only to be told ‘sorry – we’ve sent it back to the UK’. I don’t expect much from China because it is a poor country- but the UK?

Parcelforce won’t give me any information because I bought the service through Parcel Monkey’s website, and Parcelmonkey have been telling me they have been ‘investigating’ for more than 1 month now.

Keep in mind that I began emailing Parcelforce all the way back in April, when the parcel was still in China and I was still trying to get hold of it. You have to understand, that for whatever reason the parcel was not delivered to my address, and therefore I had no clue who the local delivery service should have been. It took me FOREVER to get an address for Shanghai Customs (google searching etc) because Parcel Monkey told me that they didn’t have a Customs address…they managed to give me a telephone number eventually, and then getting my Chinese colleagues to get the customs address from Customs employees was difficult too, because they could not understand what the workers were saying…and some of the workers didn’t even know the full address of where they were working! My colleagues had to call multiple times.

    And here I am today…. Still waiting…

I tweeted the local MP from the old area I used to live and she told me to email her, which I did. Because I’m not currently living in the country there is a chance that she may not be able to do anything however.

Moneywise online responded to a tweet – and told me and another disappointed customer to email them, which I since have done.

It shouldn't be too hard to find out. Parcelforce won't use a lot of different carriers. Ask Parcelforce who they use to deliver larger parcels within China. Someone on here may know too or someone there may have received a UK Parcel sent via Parcelforce.

    OMG indeed.

What was the name of that parcel company you own/work for again?

The problem is, you've all quoted the post which some/all of you reported and the quotes by you all reference the spam site.

Perhaps you should all edit your posts a little.

Quite frankly if you go on a money saving website and then use a parcel broker who charges at least 3 times more than anyone else then maybe you shouldn't be using this website.
