I think scanning a barcode is much more gentle approach to waking up in the morning, the maths thing would probably have me pulling the duvet cover back over my head - and I quite like maths!

Sorry to hear that your knee is still not sorted, you must really have wrenched it, but the yoga will be good for you and hopefully this warm weather too. Have you tried glucosamine to help the stiffness?

Yeah, gentle is the right word. I too quite enjoy maths, which meant sometimes I'd get the sums done pretty quickly and wouldn't have properly woken up yet and just fall back asleep :rotfl:

I haven't tried glucosamine actually. Thanks for the recommendation, Ill look into it.

    Good morning everyone,

Happy Friday!! Is it just me or has this week flown in?

Yesterday I left work 'early', which is still past my contracted hours but it felt like a half day. The weather was great. A bit too great actually as our office was pipping hot and made for really uncomfortable working. Left work to have my weekly granny catch up which I done whilst walking round a local park. Home for a simple dinner and get some odds and ends tied up too.

Bought some clothes in the ASOS sales, which my mum will give me money for as my birthday (late next month). One item I bought was a really thick, good quality winter jacket for £20, so I hope it fits. Bargain! Ruined my NSD, so still on #13

Gym again this morning thanks to my new alarm! No plans this evening apart from giving the flat a right good deep clean in advance of my DB + GF visiting tomorrow. She's vegan so I think I am going to make a sweet potato satay to satisfy everyone.

    Morning everyone,

    Happy Monday!!

I had a lovely weekend in the sun. My brother and his GF came to visit on Saturday afternoon and left 24 hours later. They're great company, both very talkative and with a great sense of humour so the time together was brilliant. Also, a bit like me, they watch the pennies, so it wasn't going to spiral in to an expensive weekend thankfully.

Yesterday evening was the first time in a long time where I had everything done. As in, I was struggling to think about what I could get up to. So I'm prepared for the week ahead and looking forward to it for some reason. No plans as it stands.

Finished last month on 13 NSD's which is below average for me. I'll be aiming for at least 15 this July, starting today!

I hope everyone has a super week!

June was a busy little month, which included 2 trips back home plus some visitors to me. Work was busy (as usual) but productive. Update below

    Career
    • Make a sale
Still nothing yet but the pipeline has filled back up and it’s been a positive couple of weeks.
    • Maintain performance journal
A good habit I have started and is something which I update every working day
    • Write news articles for work every 2 months
Published my first article and it was received well. Was harder than I expected but I enjoyed the outcome.

    Relationships
    • Keep in touch with family and friends
June included a couple of trips back home, as well as my brother and his GF visiting me. I’ve been trying to be more proactive with speaking to my mates too.
    • Meet new people
Not really made much progress on this. I’m thinking of taking up another activity to help in this regard.

    Self
    • Cut down phone time
    Down 25% on last week
    • Less sugar
This was deliberately out the window in June given that I couldn’t do any cardio. Well and truly
    • Read more (2/5)
Finished another, which I couldn’t put down. I’d like to make more time for this challenge.
    • Meditate & Attend yoga frequently
Now going to yoga 3 times a week and sticking to that as much as I can. I do love it and all that it does for me. Especially motivating is the small improvements.
    • Continue to learn Spanish
Duolingo have made some changes to the experiences which helps spur me on. So I’ll maintain this at lunch

For July, I have a long weekend back home then my birthday later in in the month. Aside from that, I've not much planned. If the weather continues to be positive, I'd like to spend some more time outside in one way or another. Let's see how that goes.

    Morning all,

Later check in from me as I am just back from the docs. I've been suffering from random dizzy spells for the last week or so and upon telling my mum, I was forced to make an appointment. Anyway, no further forward as I've to go back for an ECG and a blood test.

Been to the gym this morning and might even go again after work, depends when I wrap up. Failing that, it'll be a chilled night I recon.

Last night was consumed by yoga, which was once again really hard. I'm sweating buckets at it which is really rather embarrassing as there's people double my age around me with their legs behind their head as if it's nothing. Here I am, a gasping lad with literally a puddle underneath me!

I've also got a first date pencilled in for Saturday. Seems a cracking girl and she told me last night she has a 6 year old boy (she's a year younger than me). Not sure how I feel about this in all honesty. It's not ideal but if she's the one, then she's the one.

Yesterday was my first NSD and I suspect today will be another.

    Good morning everyone,

    Happy hump day.

I stayed later in work yesterday to phone my clients in America and phoned my mum en route home for a catch up. She's uptight about my step dads up and coming 60th birthday and trying to organise something special. The live in at the end of a street and are really friendly with the neighbours so they're having a small street party but of course, she's footing the bill!

I've mentioned it before but I saw the end of 24 Hours in A&E last night. I bloody love that programme. Fills you will with hope and pride in our NHS.

Been to the gym this morning and will go to yoga at lunch. No plans this evening although trying a new pork stir fry recipe. No spends yesterday means today will be #3.

    Morning everyone,

A sunny and warm start to this morning. Another busy day in work, with a few interviews to conduct as well as juggle my other responsibilities. No gym this morning but I'll go after work, providing I'm not exhausted from work.

Yesterday was a relatively busy one, again thanks to interviews. At least I grabbed a NSD, making it 3 for 3.

It's my nieces 2nd birthday next week, the one who lives in South Korea, so I need to get a move on with what I can send, that doesn't weight a lot, otherwise it'll soon cost me a fortune!

    Have a cracking day

    Morning everyone,

    Happy Friday.

A couple of interviews yesterday meant I left work a little bit later than usual. Quickly popped to the gym and had my weekly catch up with my gran. She's on good form but seems pessimistic about her health. She's very conscious of her slight decline over the last year or so. Sight, hearing, walking, appetite, sleeping etc. She's still super independent and all but these days she seems to reply to my 'how are you question' with a sigh and a 'awk I'm ok I suppose'. I'll see her again in a couple of weeks which will be nice.

Been to the gym this morning, few more interviews today and I've another short gym class booked for after work, but I might give that a by depending on how I feel. Date night tomorrow. She seems a really nice girl so looking forward to getting to know her better.

Yesterday was NSD 4, but today won't as I need to buy some birthday presents. Damn. Need to buy milk too.

    Have a super weekend everyone!

    Hey Speky
I'm just catching up after a couple of weeks off here in the world of marking... it's been really interesting to read your posts in one big chunk. The thing that stands out to me is that you're still packing an awful lot into your days and nights, and physically you seem to be burning out a bit. Take care there as well as mentally.
I think it's really brave of you to put your mental 'issues' down in type as well. There's still such a stigma attached, especially with men. Sorry you've been going through it but you know that you'll come through it stronger and with more awareness. I have a lot of the same guilt and anxiety a lot of the time, but I've never really known anything else as I've grown up like this.
Good luck with the date - fingers crossed for you.
Oh, and I'll have to put you on the exception list - I have a hatred of people that drive fast German cars. :rotfl::rotfl:

I was wondering how your wee Gran was. I think as we get older (I very much include myself in this) we start to think a bit more about our health. How old is she (if you don't mind me asking). She certainly seems very independent.

    Hope the date went well.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
