We have a mix of different banks including Natwest for the bills account - pay £2/month and get 2% back on bills which is getting us around £100+ profit over the course of the year - I like their app very much and First Direct for a couple of current accounts getting the switching bonus and access to the 5% regular saver account - love the online access but their app is oddly poor
I've switched out from Lloyds, Santander and TSB over the years - nothing massively wrong with any of them but didn't feel minded to stay longer than was necessary for the bonus. I actually like our local building society very much - good online access and no charges for using the card abroad.

Thanks for this Joey. Funnily enough I think Natwest was coming out on top with a lot of the comparisons, so I'm leaning that way. I hadn't really considered multiple accounts too so I'll take my time to consider it over the coming couple of weeks. Thanks again :)

    And good morning!

We got thunder late yesterday afternoon but I unfortunately couldn't see any lightning. A mix of clouds and being stuck inside work. It's my favourite weather. It utterly fascinates me and most of the time I've experienced it, it's been quite muggy/warm and yesterday was no different. After natures theatrics I went to the gym for bit then home to catch up on GoT before bed.

No gym this morning, despite booking a spin class. I forgot I have an external meeting so I've had to get myself 'dolled up' for it and you can't really in those gym changing rooms. My hairdryer died on me this morning, so I'll need to do some digging around for a bargain new one. It can wait for now. Football training tonight and not much else planned.

    Yesterday was NSD # 11
  • Morning,

My meeting in the city centre was pretty much a waste of my time which is frustrating because my day was centred around it and it cost money. Anyway, if you don't shoot, you don't score, as my old coach used to tell me. Because of my change of plans, I parked in a new place and came back to a parking ticket as my back wheels were on a double yellow. No complaints, I didn't even notice them so I'll need to suck it up. I came home and had a 2 hour call with my gran before going to football training at night. I had a dream I was a kid and getting shot repeatedly off my Dad. Weird.

A restless night not helped my dreams meant I was tired when I got up this morning. My hairdryer exploded on me and then I realised I've lost my favourite travel mug, so not the best of starts. I've not much planned this weekend, thankfully, so I'll keeping spends to an absolute minimum outside of the above.

    Still on 11 NSD's

Hope today is a better one Speky… I hate days where everything seems to be going wrong.
  • Morning everyone and happy Monday

My weekend was uneventful, just the way I wanted it. A usual blend of exercise, sports, housework and some deserved rest.

I've done most of my meal prep for the week which is cauliflower rice and spicy chicken for lunches and I also made some 'healthy' low-carb cookies to satisfy my sweet tooth but they look dry, so I'm not holding out much hope.

My wrist is niggling me from boxing the other week so I'm undecided wither to go to yoga tonight. Either way, I'll go to the gym and do something, just maybe something less strenuous on it.

    Today will be NSD #13.

    Have a nice week everyone.
  • Good morning,

Yesterday was spent in work. All day. Like before 8am till closer to 9pm. Just one of those days that needed all hands on deck and what else was I going to do? Go to the gym and then sit on the couch? I ultimately just skipped the gym went straight to siting on the couch, watching the latest Game of Thrones episode (maybe the best episode of TV I've ever seen. Has anyone else seen it?).

I had to buy milk for the office, so the £1.29 ruined my NSD. Still on 13 and will finish the month on 14.

Back in work this morning for more of the same - possibly. I'm contemplating my boxing class but my wrist is till giving me jip so I might skip it to avoid aggravating it. Instead, I'll defo go to the gym and go a run.

My mum called to say that my Gran wasn't feeling well over the weekend and so stayed with her for a couple of days. Symptoms sounds like kidney stones or appendicitis, but she's not in that much pain right now. Waiting on test results. It's times like these when I wish I was closer to home.

Morning all and may your May be happy

Another late night, followed by a catch up call with my gran who I am pleased to say is feeling better - thanks CCL. A quick gym session then home to make my lunches for the week and bed.

Today may well be much of the same actually although I do want to try and leave a bit earlier if possible. Of course even if I leave earlier, I've still stayed late again. I doubt I'll ever see a 5 o clock finish become the usual any time soon.

I go on holiday on Tuesday of next week, away to South Spain with my mum and step dad for a week. So I need to make sure I've got all my bits and bobs in advance soon, in case I have to order something online. That's my task for tonight should I chose to accept it.

Given I'm away for 7 days, I'm still going to give myself the hefty task of aiming for 14 NSD's this month and today should be number 1.

April was a mixed bag for me. It was tough in work after we suffered a few setbacks and personally I had the dilemma around The Girl From Liverpool. Aside from that it was good; I read, I eat healthy, I exercised, I enjoyed the weather and I didn't overspend.

    Career

Nothing yet. In fact April was a tough month for us all in the business. Just need to keep my chin up and keep doing what I am doing.
    • Maintain performance journal
A good habit I have started and is something which I update every working day
    • Go above and beyond
Lately this has been shown in the hours I’ve put in. 12 hour days, just to make sure I’m doing the best I can

    Relationships
    • Keep in touch with family and friends
In April I kept in close contact with my usual family members and saw an old friend who was in Manchester. I’ve a holiday with my Mum and SD next week so it’ll be great to spend some time with them again.
    • Meet new people
I spent some time with The Girl From Liverpool but it wasn’t to be. I didn’t have that feeling which should be present early on. The trick is, I’m happy and content just now. I know that the moment I do meet someone and if it get serious, my schedule, habits and routine will be up in the air and that might be difficult for me to adjust. But It has to happen at some point and ultimately, If I meet the right girl then a compromise will be easy.

    Self
    • Cut down phone time
Screen time is up on last week but that’s down to me watching the football whilst in the gym, so I don’t really count that. It’s the social networking which I need to focus on and last week I spent 7h 24m on social media!!
    • Less sugar
I’ve been super healthy of late and I am seeing and feeling the difference. I’ll look to maintain this once I’m back my holiday.
    • Read more (0/5)
The book I bought was so good I’ve almost finished it, even though I wanted to keep it for my holiday. I’ve since bought 2 more!!
    • Meditate & Attend yoga frequently
I love it. I can almost touch my toes, which was impossible at the start of the year. It keeps my mental health in check too.
    • Continue to learn Spanish
Works been busy, which has meant I sometimes skipped my lunchtime learning but I’m trying to get back into the routine.

Although I am disappearing to Spain for a week in May, it's a quiet month aside from that. Which is fine by me. I want to do well with NSD's, continue my healthy eating and exercising and try to remain positive and productive in all areas of life.

    Good morning,

As predicted, I left earlier than usual, but it was still an hour or so after I'm meant to finish. I enjoyed a relaxing night on the xbox with my pals from back home, always a good laugh. NSD #1 for the month, too!

Today however I have been to the gym this morning already and I'll go after for a run. My planner thing says 6 miles but we'll see. I've brought a jacket and trousers into work with me as I need to take to the dry cleaners today, so today will be a spend day. I've also brought a (cheap-ish) watch with me which needs fixed, too. I've got a wish-list set up on Asos for some last minute holiday clothes, so I'll also buy them today at lunch so I have them in time for next week. Finally, to make the most of my spend day, I need to visit the SM to get some things to last me a few days, in an attempt to avoid racking up spend days over the weekend. Busy little day.

    So, I must get cracking.
