As the start of the month, here's my update on my NY resolutions.
Career
• Make a sale
Like last month, things are going in the right direction but it never happens overnight. A few prospects should be closed in the coming weeks.
• Maintain performance journal
A good habit I have started and is something which I update every working day
• Go above and beyond
We’ve taken on a new start and so that may be my opportunity to make sure he’s settled in an understands things.
Relationships
• Keep in touch with family and friends
I’ve a trip back home this weekend in which I will see lots of family and some friends.
• Meet new people
I’ve been on a 2nd date, with a 3rd around the corner. Although I remain uncertain about the future.
Self
• Cut down phone time
Screen time last week was 3h 52mins, which is up on last week.
• Less sugar
Sweeteners in my coffee, less rubbish food. The healthy eating push starts today
• Read more
I bought a book I wanted which was half price, so I’ve started that and will aim to read a little bit every day
• Meditate
Not managed to do any of this away from my yoga practice.
• Attend yoga frequently
This has become a priority for me now. I attend when I can and I am frustrated when I have to miss a class.
• Continue to learn Spanish
I’ve been consistent with this at every lunch time0 -
Morning
I after work yesterday I quickly visited the gym then headed home for haloumi, blackberry, spinach sandwiches (without the bread) and it was really quite nice. Was in bed for 10ish, done some reading then tried to nod off. However yet another poor nights kip meant I opted against the gym this morning. Why do I always seem to sleep easily when it's time to get up?!
Anyway, yoga today at lunch for a quick hour plus got football training tonight. Cauliflower macaroni cheese tonight for dinner.
NSD #2 today0 -
Hope today has been a better one for you Speky - I hate the days where everything has gone wrong before you even start. Not giving up

Well it didn't improve too much as I was awfully disjointed. All sixes and sevens.
Got my dates mixed up and forgot football training moved from last night to tonight, so accidentally no gym yesterday or today. Last nights dinner was cauliflower mac n cheese, without the cheddar cheese as it had went mouldy. So I just had mac. Still was surprisingly alright thanks to the cream and soft cheese.
Lovely, crisp morning but its freezing! Hope it warms up a bit.
I've got a check up at the docs after work today, so I'll be off sharpish. Then home for sesame chicken with broccoli - then football training!0 -
Morning chums,
It's Friday!!
You know those moments when you want the world to swallow you up? I had one last night...long story. We laughed about it though (thankfully).
My sesame chicken broccoli was lovely, for sure be making it again. No cooking for the next 2 days as I leave straight after work to head back up to Glasgow for a couple of days with a super busy schedule of seeing people;
Friday -Dinner with my mum ans SD
Saturday -Brunch at my Dads, Visit my ex-colleagues daughters 1st bday party, Lunch with my cousins, Dinner with my mate
Sunday - Breakfast with my mum and SD, Lunch with my gran, Drive home
I'm looking forward to it but I'm not looking forward to the filling my tank with petrol twice! Oh well, I made my bed I suppose...
NSD #4 today providing I can avoid buying cargo for the 3 hour drive up the road!0 -
Good morning and Happy Monday,
My weekend was spent back in Glasgow visiting as many people as possible, amongst it all was a lovely meal at my favourite restaurant with my cousins. It was great. Over too soon, as always. Left Glasgow at 3pm yesterday and arrived home at 6.15pm. By the time I done some errands, it was bed time. A bit of a restless night, probably not helped with my choice of 'relaxing sounds' to help me sleep. For the first time in ageeeees, I chose talk radio, which (unsurprisingly) was focused on Brexit. My goodness some of the callers are passionate about it all. It made me want to stay up to see if it somehow broke out into a physical dispute!!
Anyway, I woke with the sound of my alarm at 5am for the gym. Just as well it did as I was having a dream that a Chinese woman was trying to stab me with a fountain pen for some reason. I've got yoga tonight, which I'm looking forward to as usual. By the time I've done that, I'll be home and into bed.
A spendy weekend, including the Friday, means that today will in actual fact be #4.0 -
Sounds like a fantastic weekend all in all Speky. We need times like that.

Good morning everyone,
I left the house at 5.30am yesterday and didn't return till 10pm - straight to bed. Gym in the morning, followed by work (stayed late) then went back to the gym for a little bit then had yoga for 1hr 45m. Not long after my head hit the pillow and I was out.
When the alarm went off at 5 this morning, my body was screaming 'NO!!!'. Not in the usual way, 'cause bed is cosy and warm, but in such a way where it was obvious I needed the rest. I could have continued to sleep on but work was beckoning. CCL & Joey - you're right, I needed it.
I supposedly have a boxing class with my ex-colleague (the lad who was sacked recently) but given his unreliability, I've brought my gym stuff so I can go there after work if needed. Given how hectic my Mondays are, I've decided to fast from Monday lunch - Tuesday lunch, so I've not eaten anything since 12.30 yesterday and only had fluids (90% water, 10% coffee). Not hungry or anything yet and I'll actually try and hold off having lunch till as late as possible.
The 3rd date is booked for this Saturday. We're going to go for dinner then some drinks in Liverpool. I thought it was unfair to ask her to come out my neck of the woods, especially with this underlying feeling of uncertainty that I have about it all. I thought a civilised meal will give me a chance to get to know her better and from there, I can make a judgement call on how I feel. I'd hate for her to feel messed about should it not work out.
Yesterday was NSD #4. My budget is all up to date and looking relatively healthy, too.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Happy hump day, too
Yesterday I ended up trying the new boxing class which my ex-colleague had suggested. Despite his typically unpredictability, he did actually come along too. It was super hard work, to the point where I felt sick - twice - and I would say I'm relatively fit too. Anyway, despite the hour long torture, it was good to be back in gloves again as it's been about 2 years since I done some boxing. The gym is 5 minutes from me, so I've no excuse now.
I quite literally rolled into bed afterwards and again slept right through thanks to having no energy. No gym this morning, but I have yoga at lunch and I'll go a run after work too.
Yesterday NSD #5 (boxing was budgeted) although I do need to spend today. My tortillas I was using for my lunches seem a bit too hard, which means I'm lunchless today and I need to buy a new pack to do me for the rest of the week.0
