Happy Friday
I stuck to my word and left work at a reasonable time yesterday, which meant I was able to go to the gym, have a phone call with my gran and my ex-colleague, make my dinner, tidy up and even to chill for an hour or so.
My boiler is being replaced today, so I couldn't go to the gym this morning as I was to let the man in. He's the best friend of my landlord and I've been assured I can trust him in my house alone. I've left him with my keys and I hope to return around 6pm to a warm flat. I know, I know, something doesn't sit right with leaving my keys with a stranger, essentially. But with my landlords reassurance, confidence and trust in him, plus with a lack of other options, I have.
Today will be NSD #5. Turned down my colleagues invitation for going out for food and drinks. Brought my lunch into work with me and I've got ingredients aside for curried cod tonight.
I've a busy day tomorrow. Including a date!! Meeting a girl in Liverpool for a few drinks at night so I'll have an update for you all on Monday morning. Don't look the hats out yet.0 -
Hope the house is nice and warm now Speky. It's gotten a bit chilly again this week. Not giving up

Morning all,
Blue skies, wet underfoot and windy here.
A busy and nice weekend was had. On Friday, I went home and my flat was like a bombsite with the guys working on the boiler. My landlord was there supervising and explained that they would be a couple of hours and I think they eventually left around 8ish. I had no heating so I just wrapped up, which is fine.
The gas men came round again on the Saturday morning whilst I went to yoga, the gym and the SM. Again came home to them all still working. They finished at around 6pm. I had left by then for Liverpool to meet a girl for a first date. I actually wasn't feeling particularly nervous for some reason and we enjoyed a nice night having a few drinks before I caught the last train home. I recon I'll see her again actually.
Sunday morning signalled a group video call with the family to see the little one in Korea, given the time difference us in the UK had to be on at 8.30am, so most of us looked dishevelled but it was nice to see everyone. My football game was cancelled due to a watterlogged pitch so I spend my morning doing all my meal prep and then went a 7 mile run, which is my new longest distance.
In work now and will go to the gym then yoga tonight.0 -
Good morning chums,
I completed my registration at my new doctors down here the other day, so I decided to phone and make an appointment, mostly to see about my knee as I can't really afford to pay £50 a fortnight for physio. They had a cancellation that night so I nipped in on my way home then went to yoga too.
No NSD yesterday as I had to buy food bags and dish washer tablets. Also took the opportunity to stock up on mixers. The boys are coming over this weekend so I need to have plenty of 'swally' in the house for them.
Terrible weather here. I think the rain battering off my window even woke me up at one point! Anyway, I got up and went to the gym this morning. Was soaked by the time I got in the door. Then went a run and cycle, went for a shower then realised I brought a hand towel instead of a bath towel!! So I looked a bit strange as I attempted to wrap it round and cover me haha!!
I've a lengthy to do list in work, so I recon I'll stay late tonight to get through as much as I can and stay ahead of the game. Thai green curry tonight.
Today should be NSD #70 -
Good morning and happy hump day,
As predicted, I stayed late last night and caught up on some work but no where near it all. I might stay late tonight again but we'll see how i feel. I decided against the gym this morning as I have football training tonight and yoga at lunch.
Not too much else to report for today.
NSD # 8 today.0 -
Good morning,
Happy Friday everyone.
Later this afternoon I have 5 boisterous, cheeky and probably slightly tipsy mates travelling down from Glasgow to stay with me for the weekend. I think I've prepared everything; breakfast (rolls), snacks, beers, spirits, mixers, blow up beds and I'm going to buy quilts after work. It'll be a heavy 48 hours and whilst I'm usually the sensible one, the lads have made the effort to come down and visit, taking days off work etc so I'll try and let myself relax a bit but still watch my spends.
My colleague in work promised me 3 weeks ago that he could provide me spare quilts as had 2 stored away. Anyway, last night I drove to collect them and he told me he doesn't have them, they're with a family member. Ok, no problem, I'll buy some today, but it's typical of this particular colleague and it's beginning to really get to me. We both do the same job but he spends 80% of his day on his phone. A nice guy away from work, in fact he's went over and above anyone else to help me settle, but his work ethic bothers me more than it should. Rant over.
Have a nice weekend everyone
Yesterday wasn't a NSD as I stocked up for the lads so I'm still on #80 -
Good morning everyone,
I hope you all had a good weekend.
Mine was spent hosting 6 rowdy Glaswegians. It was just non-stop laughing, from start to finish and it was great to see the lads again. I lost my voice yesterday and my throat feels like I've swallowed a dozen razor blades! I'll survive.
I've another busy week ahead but tonight will be relaxed, with some yoga in there for good measure.
Right, I need to crack on with work.0 -
Good morning everyone,
I feel a bit more human today compared to yesterday, although I've still only got half my voice back. Such was my own self sympathy yesterday that I got myself a KFC as medicine. It helped despite not being very MSE.
Today I expect a long day in work. I travel to London then Basel tomorrow and Thursday and so I need to get my proverbial ducks in a row before I leave today.
House is looking a bit more normal now and in fact, the painters should be arriving any time now to re-paint the corner of my spare room which had some damp in it. Like before, my landlord is letting them in whilst I'm at work.
Still stuck on 8 NSD's although today should be 9.0 -
Love a KFC from time to time. I'm sure it was worth it.Not giving up

Good morning everyone,
I've returned from my travels. I'm knackered, my feet and legs are killing me and I had mixed success. Wednesday 5am - Thursday 11pm was non stop, taking in Manchester, London, Basel and back to Manchester and visiting 2 exhibitions. Much of my spending goes on expenses thankfully but it gets messy when you're exchanging GBP to CHF, I'll let my bank catch up and organise it to be paid asap.
I've got my parents visiting this weekend, they should be arriving at 6.30ish, so that'll give me some time to nip to the SM and get some ironing done - I hope.
I've also a ton of work to catch up on, so I'll love you and leave you all. Have a nice weekend0
