And again not so many weekends ago :rotfl: Since I reached my 40's my recovery time has gone up four fold so generally drinking isn't worth the pain afterwards - so it's not an every weekend thing, and definitely not on a school night.
You and me both. I remember the days at uni when I could go out one night and still turn up at 9am the next day at my lecture feeling well enough to take the class. Now I'm looking a 2 or 3 days before I feel human again. Not to mention the guilt of the inevitable overspend.
I had to leave work sharpish yesterday as my boiler had been making a very high pitched screeching sound occasionally and so my landlord had send round a guy to have a look and he was coming at 6. After about 30 minutes he said that is needs a new part, at the back of the boiler and will require a full day to dismantle it and put it back together again. Oh well, at least it'll be fixed.
After they left I went a 5-mile run. I'm still getting used to the area here so I'm not entirely sure where I was going, ended up down some dark alley but managed the run nonetheless. After 6 exercise sessions in 3 days, my body was killing me so I went to bed at 9 and slept like a baby. No gym this morning but I'll go to yoga at lunch and football training tonight.
Chicken and avocado wraps for dinner. Well, that depends if you can freeze avocados? I've taken one out to defrost so I might come home to some sort of mush.0 -
Good morning,
I stuck to my word and went to yoga at lunch yesterday, which I'm proud of. I'll try and make that a regular thing, so much so that I've put it in my calendar so I know not to take meetings or calls then. Got a text as I left to buy milk for the office, which ruined my NSD, only to find out someone else had too and I didn't have to. Grrrrr. So I took the milk home for myself as I needed some anyway.
When I got home I checked what state my defrosted avocado was in. Went to cut through it and the knife went straight through the stone in the middle too! Despite this, it was still terribly hard so decided to bin it. Improvised on dinner from there.
No gym this morning but I'll go afterwards. I've got some homemade meatballs to make when I get home too so I'll try and get it everything done in a timely fashion.
Finished the month on 13 NSD's. Not the best. March will be difficult but I'll do my best.0 -
Morning everyone,
Happy Friday and welcome to March
As is becoming the norm, I worked late last night. First in, last out. I don't mind too much, as I take pride in my work ethic and quality of the work I do, providing that it pays off (in my case that means sales, which means commission). Once I left work I noticed I hadn't been paid, and given I've all my direct debits/standing orders coming off today, I needed cash. Told my boss and he wired me some to cover me, thankfully. Went to make dinner and realised I was missing passata for my meatball sauce, so poached eggs and bacon it was.
I'll be visiting the gym this evening after work and aside from that, I'll have nothing planned for the rest of the night.0 -
EEK! So how come you haven't been paid? What's gone wrong? Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt

This goes back to the whole thing of the company being a start up and I'm the only person who is on PAYE. Everyone else invoices for their services and then sorts their own taxes at the end of the FY. The PA of the companies owner took seriously unwell just before Christmas and so we've had other members of staff trying to organise things in her absence. It seems this slipped through the net.
My boss kindly transferred me some money, I was paid the next day and I sent it back to him. They promised it won't happen again.
Good morning one and all,
Happy Monday
A standard weekend for me now includes; yoga/exercise, football, visiting the SM, meal prep, washing and tidying up. And that was no different this weekend. I enjoy the routine, so I can't complain.
No gym this morning as my legs are still aching from the football yesterday so I'll save myself for yoga tonight. Also, with the class not finishing till 9.00, I find I'm ruining out of a suitable time to have dinner, so I've decided to fast from today's lunch until tomorrows lunch. A doddle.
My landlord was over on Saturday morning with a gas man who explained that I need a new boiler, which will be fitted this Wednesday. It means I need to work from home but I should feel the benefit of better heating and lower bills afterwards, so I'm not complaining. My landlord is great. Always going above and beyond which is brilliant. I need to make sure i do the same for my tenants.
Right must get going. Have a lovely week ahead everyone!
Sunday was NSD #10 -
Morning everyone,
A nice and bright day here, although it's wet underfoot.
Yesterday was my usual Monday evening. Stayed late in work > went to the gym > went to yoga > home and bed. Decided to fast, Monday lunch till Tuesday lunch as well. Partly because I don't really have time to cook up a big meal at 10pm, nor would I be in the mood for eating it. Not hungry so far.
Tonight I don't have plans although I may visit the gym after work again - in fact, I will visit the gym after work today! Tonight I'm trying another new recipe, pea and broad bean shakshuka. Not meat involved, which isn't like me, but it's full of ingredients I do like and it's healthy.
This morning I've budgeted for the month ahead although I know for a fact is going to be loose. In this order I have; 6 of my mates travelling down to spend the weekend at mine (money on 2 nights out), a work trip to London (expenses paid but I'll need to fork out firstly), I then fly to Basel (work trip again) and then come home to my parents visiting for the weekend (money spent on lunch/dinner no doubt). I've tried to account for the visitors but as ever, it'll no doubt end up costing way more than I had hoped/planned. Nonetheless, I don't grudge it, as I appreciate them coming down to visit.
Still stuck on NSD #1 as I had to pay for parking yesterday. Damn it.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Of course, I could lie and say that I had always planned on doing quarterly updates my new year resolutions. But I won't. I just haven't gotten round to it. Until today that is!!
Career
• Make a saleProgress has been made on this front. For reference, in my line of work, I’m doing really well if I make 2 or 3 sales a year. So I’ll be happy when I get my first in my new job• Maintain performance journalA good habit I have started and is something which I update every working day• Go above and beyondThis to me can mean different things on different days; working late, taking on more work, being extra thorough etc. We’ve a manic 2 weeks ahead and I’ll keep the head down for this final push
Relationships
• Keep in touch with family and friendsIn March I am lucky enough that my mates from back home are coming down and as are my mum and step-dad. This on top of my weekly calls to my gran too, of course• Meet new peopleWell, I actually have a first date in place for Saturday. So that will be one new person I’ll have met. I’m finding that meeting new people tends to come at a cost as this usually happens when going out for food or drinks with existing friends. So there’s a fine balance to be had.
Self
• Cut down phone timeMy phone time last week was 3h 28m on average per day.• Less sugarI need to buy sweetners for my morning coffee• Read moreI need a new book, which costs £££• MeditateNot even managed this, outside of yoga. I should put some time aside to use the Calm app• Attend yoga frequentlyThere are 3 classes per week in my gym and last week, I attended all 3.• Continue to learn SpanishI’ve been consistent with this at every lunch time0 -

Joey - Yes, typically I would however in this case, it's a book which has just came out, so I assume that's only available to buy initially? I might be wrong.
Morning everyone,
Reporting to you live from my spare bedroom, otherwise known as my office for the day. I've got a guy coming to replace my boiler which meant I had to be in the house for it, so thankfully I can work from home. Still sticking to my usual routine; up at the normal time, coffee get the laptop open and catch up etc. Still feels weird.
Not much else to report for now.0 -
Good morning,
Wet and windy this morning.
Yesterday I stayed late in work again. I find I'm doing that more often than not, but I've got soo much to do and I enjoy the feeling of doing a good job so I don't mind really. Made some healthy shakshuka thing last night which was actually pretty nice considering the lack of meat. L/O tonight
Providing I finish at a reasonable time tonight, I'll visit the gym for a bit.
Boiler wasn't fixed yesterday as the gas man phoned in sick and supposedly you need someone with a license/insurance to go above 2 floors or something. Anyway, landlord has sorted it for Friday now.
Today is NSD #40
