Hope you have a great party. Mind you watch how you're feeling, and reckon up your alcohol from tonight before you set off. The police are out in force on the M6 and yesterday OH said several cars were being pulled over when he drove home.
Our police friends said that they are doing a lot of pulling over cars to give breathalyser test especially first thing in the morning and post lunch. So do be careful, as you know the tolerance in Scotland is even lower than in England.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Good morning everyone,
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year. Apologies I never made it on here during the festivities, I left my laptop in Manchester whilst I drove back home to spend time with friends and family.
It was a lovely couple of weeks, with very little rest as most days I was lunching, having dinner or drinks with someone else. This in turn meant I spent a fair bit, but it's a special time of the year, so I don't really mind.
My step-brother came over from South Korea for Christmas, and he brought his wife and 18 month daughter too, which was just great. It was the first time we seen them since they left 9 months ago, so the little 'un has fair grown. Really nice to have the full family back together for Christmas and it was difficult to see them go again.
Santa was good to me with various smellies, clothes, and a little bit of cash too (which helps, given the above). I got back to Manchester last night, put a washing on, tidied up and had an early night although a rubbish sleep. Later today, once my bank has caught up, I'll do my budgeting for the month/year ahead too.0 -
Happy New Year Speky - I was just wondering last night when you might be back online. Really pleased that you've had a good break away. Not giving up

Happy New Year Louby and CCL!!
And good morning again,
Yesterday was a bit full on as I had the gym in the morning followed by my first day back at work (never gets easier) then home to make an overly complicated dinner, tidy up and out to play football 9-10. By the time I get home, showered and in bed, I'm still wide awake. So I had a poor nights sleep.
This, in turn, meant I've decided against the gym this morning and I'll go afterwards instead. Something much simpler for dinner should mean a bit more relaxation.
My friends over on the NSD Challenge thread have inspired me (thanks CCL if you're reading) to write quite a comprehensive to-do list for January. You know, those niggly things you never get round to doing. It's growing arms and legs and there's a lot more than I thought. I'm looking forward to ticking them all off and getting it off my mind.0 -
Morning all,
Happy Monday.
I know it's typically known as a 'bad' day, but in an attempt to be more positive, I'm trying to change that within myself.
Anyway, I had a nice weekend. Very productive. Saturday was mostly life admin, sorting out direct debits, deep clean of the flat, weekly food shop, bought my dads birthday present, sorting out my budget for the month (and year) ahead.
Sunday I played football in the morning. We were beaten 3-1 and I only played 20 minutes or so but it was good to get a run about as it's been the first time I've played 11's since I tore my calf a couple of years ago. After that I made my soup for the week ahead, chorizo and lentil, and then prepped my dinner. Also bagged a NSD.
The weekends productivity has inspired me to continue in that vein. As such, I've been to the gym this morning and I've a free evening in front of me. I've still a list of things I'd like to do, so I'll perhaps tackle them.0 -
Morning all,
I expecting a thread to be made given that some of you tend to awaken at crazy o clock. So I hope that means you're all in a deep and uninterrupted sleep!
I'm up at the usual time but I've came straight to work as opposed to the gym first. I have some clients, or potential clients I should say, who are based in Japan so I need to be in early to catch them at a reasonable time.
Yesterday after work I had an hour long phone call with my old boss. He's more like a friend more than anything else so it was nice to catch up. After that I done some other bits and bobs before hitting the sack around 10
Today I'll finish work a bit earlier. I'll go to the gym and then head home to prep dinner I'll continue on with my productive nights that I've been having of late.
I'm heading back up to Scotland this weekend for my Dad's 60th on Saturday. Some of you may remember, but my dad suffered severe brain damage after being attacked in Glasgow in 2002 and this has left him in a permanent state where he needs 24 hour supervision in a hospital in Ayr. He doesn't know who I am, or anyone else for that matter. He'll claim he's not eaten in days despite us just watching him eaten. It's a sorry state but one I'm used to. So we're arranging a little shin dig. He won't understand. He'll maybe even take the huff that we're saying he's 60 but it's the thought that counts. I'll see my mum on the Saturday night and then I'll have lunch with my gran on the Sunday before heading back down the road.
Anyway, I need to make some calls. Hope everyone has a super day0 -
Speky, I had no idea about your dad - what an awful tough situation for you and your family. However, it sounds as though a good time will be had by all at the weekend and it'll be a lovely catch up for you.Not giving up

Thanks CCL. I accepted the situation years ago and so it's not something which gets me upset now. By comparison, my best friend's dad died when he was 4, so I try to count myself lucky that I can still see my dad.
Yesterday felt like a long day given the early start and late stay in work. I sorted out my road tax when I got home and prepped a nice healthy dinner before going to bed early. I must have needed the sleep as I slept right through till the alarm at 5,30 and I opted for a longer lie rather than the gym this morning.
I've got football tonight and not much else planned, I might squeeze in a quick visit to the gym given I didn't go this morning. Ask me again at 5pm how I'm feeling.
Today is NSD 6/17 :money:0
