Joey, that is an amazing idea.
I will use that in the future.

Morning everyone,
I stayed late in work yesterday for a bit then headed home, had my left overs, fixed my central heating, tidied up, wrote a christmas card to my neighbour I've yet to meet and got ready for work today. In bed for 10, asleep by half past.
Today I've been to the gym. I noticed that when I woke, my mind was alert and ready to seize the day, but it felt like my body wanted/needed the extra time in bed. Not because it's comfy but because it was soothing. That might be a load of b*ll*cks but thats honestly what it felt like this morning.
There is talks of me going into Manchester tomorrow on a date with this girl I've been texting since the weekend, but it's dependant on wither my friend (with his fiance and baby) are coming this weekend and when. I'll find out today. To prepare I need my haircut, which I have done for a week or so, after work. Then my night tonight will be spent fairly relaxed and perhaps giving a deeper clean to the flat, just in case, you know...0 -
Ooooh, exciting.
And you're welcome, the money box idea works at all ages too - and as we all know it's never too late to have an emergency fund. A group of us did it for a friend's 40th rather than buy her too much stuff she probably would have liked but didn't want - it also meant that there was no pressure on anyone to put it more than they could afford as no one else could see. Friend was delighted and uses it as her mad money fund.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Morning everyone,
I got home yesterday to make Hungarian goulash but when I took the beef out the fridge it had gone grey, despite it being in date. It didn't smell to clever so I binned in and opted for bacon and eggs instead. Not ideal but the fridge is bare.
I think I'm coming down with the flu. Terrible nights sleep and after I eventually fell asleep, I've woken to my full body in pain; neck, shoulders, chest, arms and wrists. Those are my only symptoms for now but I suspect I'll soon deteriorate. Plus, it's date night tonight! So I'm going to load up on medicine and try to power through.
No confirmation yet on if my mate is coming down this weekend. His fiance suffers from some sort of mental illness where she is over protective of their son, to the extent that nobody else can pick him up and he can't leave her sight - anywhere, at any time. It's such a shame because she doesn't mean it of course, but the little un's grandparents have only held him once or twice in the last couple of years. Such a shame.
Right. I must get on and fight this flu or whatever it is.0 -
Hope you're feeling better soon Speky. Sounds unpleasant, whatever it is...
Enjoy the weekend, if you can.Not giving up

Thanks CCL.
I really felt poorly all Friday morning, but I necked a few coffees and lemsips and powered through. Plus it was date night.
In short, the girl was lovely, very bubbly, talkative, heart on the sleeve and quite funny, but she's not the one for me I don't think. I was brave (or stupid) enough to go into Manchester city centre on Saturday on what I found out to be the busiest day of the year. I managed to get everything I needed and nipped in and out on the tram, really easy.
Aside from that, I didn't do too much on my weekend.
No gym this morning, I'll go after work. Can't remember what it is I have planned for dinner but I've not taken anything out of the freezer.0 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday wasn't too different from my usual now. Work > gym > dinner > xbox > bed for 10. The xbox is a godsend to me. It can seen as quite childish given that I'm fast approaching 30 and yet I spent time killing zombies or playing fifa, but it's more than the game, it gives me a chance to speak to a few of my mates from back home. I suspect relaxing with the xbox is something which I'll continue to do for the rest of my days. Millennials eh?
Today I recon will be much the same as yesterday, although there is some football tonight which I'll try to catch. I'm making my own pulled pork for dinner. Never tried the recipe before but by god I do enjoy a pulled pork on almost anything.0 -
Morning everyone,
1 more sleep then I'm off for 2 weeks!!
Quickly visited the gym last night after work then darted home to make pulled pork nachos (diet's out the window obviously) and they were quite nice actually. Watched the footie then went to bed. Rock and roll.
I felt a little twinge in my knee last night so I've opted for no gym tonight. Also, I might need to nip into Manchester to buy a shirt for my work Xmas night out tomorrow. Would navy blue trousers go with a light blue shirt? I doubt it somehow. I'll check tonight when I get home and if it's not a match then I'll jump on the tram.
Got a call from the council tax people in Scotland who wanted to know my new address so they could send me a cheque for £120!! I won't get it now till the new year, but that would be nice. I also got an email from the Manchester council to say that they agree that I was unfairly given my parking ticket and the case is closed. I've still another to pay though and I'm not sure wither to appeal further or just pay it. Especially since I've got a rebate coming.
Chilli from the freezer tonight for dinner.0 -
Lots of good news about the rebate and parking ticket.
Surely worth trying to appeal the other one as well - things happen in threes.
Sorry to hear about your knee - best rested. And for what its worth I would have thought that light blue and navy would look fine together, but I have never, ever been stylish - I just make 'statements' with my clothing choices. Not giving up

:rotfl::rotfl: Thanks CCL. That's the last bit of encouragement I needed. I'm going for it.
Morning,
Today signals my last day in work for 2 weeks and it's also my DM birthday. First time in my 28 years I won't see her on her birthday but I've sent a card and there's a bouquet of flowers arriving at her work later today. I'll see her tomorrow.
I've my Christmas party tonight in a fancy hotel in Manchester tonight. I've a feeling it'll get messy but I'm driving back home tomorrow so I'm going to be sensible. With the party looming, I finish work at 1pm today which is nice. It'll give me a chance to start packing and getting the flat ready. I also need to find a feeding block thing for my goldfish whilst I'm away.
So for the next fortnight I'll be back staying with DM and I've a busy couple of weeks catching up with family friends. I suppose it's quite endearing to be in the situation. Coming on here is part of my typical weekday morning routine and I'll be sure to pop by and say hi.0
