I only reverse into a space if I cannot drive in front ways easily - i normally cycle to work (hardy ever drive) but on the few occasions i have driven in i have noticed everyone else had reversed into their spaces. Reversing in seems like a "faff" to me - how many people really have accidents reversing out? Driving along a motorway is probably more risky.
Statistically the motorway is the safest place to drive. I'd imagine there's way more minor bumps in supermarket car parks than driving on the road.
  • Always drive in and reverse out - allows access to the boot of the car for copious amounts of shopping, even when I went out to buy a bag of sugar and accidentally walked past the "oops basket"!

Never begin a sentence with "And". Unless you are the Goo Goo Dolls that is.

Used to reverse in pretty much all of the time but now I have the wheelchair (and a large car), I tend to have to go in forwards to allow space to get the chair out.

Reversed parked at the train station a week or so ago though as I was just picking up...plus it looked like it would be an absolute begger to try to reverse out of the parking space.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

at one of our work locations, when we park, we must point the car in the direction to leave the location, and leave the keys in the ignition, for other users to drive if we are told to.

Not sure how this works for insurance, but we do work 1km down a tunnel under a mountain.
  • As someone who's only recently passed, I tend to find a space away from the pack, I can reverse park without much issue, but it's easier to reverse out than reverse in.
Until I get more road miles under my belt, I aim to keep it simple
