How do you park?

In mainland Europe many hotels, including the Accor chain, have signs in the car park prohibiting reverse bay parking - so that suitcases don't get dragged along the sides of adjoining cars.
I stayed in a hotel in Germany recently that prohibited reverse parking. I wondered why.
We have some parking spaces outside a building at my work with a sign saying the same thing (in English, obviously) but there reason there is to stop the white wall getting stained by car exhausts.0 -
In some places (e.g. oil refineries, chemical plants) it is mandatory to reverse park.0

It depends.
I prefer to reverse in and pull out forwards, but if the car park is busy when I arrive I will go in forwards as it is quicker and more considerate as it doesn't hold up the people behind me, and there is at least a chance that it may be less busy when I leave. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Almost always reverse into a space.
I laugh at fools who spend 10 minutes trying really hard to go nose first into a space AND/OR spend the same time trying to reverse out.
The only exception for me is my kit car, which parks in my garage nose first so that the engine bay is up near my tools/workbench and at the same time keeps the fuel tank away from my bench grinder.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Depends where I'm parking.
On the high street I parallel park, properly.
In a car park it depends whether or not I'm going to need access to the boot. I never understand people who reverse into a supermarket car park then have to drag all their bags of shopping between cars. What's that all about?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Always reverse inLiverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I don't know what supermarkets you visit, but near me the very few cars that reverse park always do so where there is a pathway at the rear (most supermarkets seem to have this now) OR they park away from everyone else in the far corner of the car park.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I used to work in Health and Safety, and I am very mindful that a quarter of all deaths involving motor vehicles at work are when the vehicle was reversing. Good workplace design seeks to minimise or even remove the need for vehicles to reverse at all. I was always taught to reverse into a parking space as it's a) safer (better view when rejoining traffic) and b) more efficient (you are doing the low-speed manoeuvring when the engine is warm).
In supermarkets I go with everyone else here and park bum-outwards. My favourite spot is immediately to the right of one of those trolley garages. I get the left of the car tight against that, and there is almost half a space to my right - less likelihood of damage from the door or trolley of another customer. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

That'll be me -- I'm fed up of the scratches and scrapes caused by thoughtless people who park either too close to me and/or drag their bags of goodies up between the cars.
Most supermarket parking bays are much to narrow in the UK.
They are not so narrow elsewhere in Europe.0 -
