  • Thank you so much, Pooky, that's really helpful. He has an appointment with nurse tomorrow about referral for exercise so I will get him to see if she can do rheumatology referral too.

Did your DH completely give up gluten? I'm wondering if cutting down would help.

Yes, completely given up, easier than it sounds once you get your head round it. There's lots of people out there that have found giving it up has helped and others don't see a difference. I've always suspected I was gluten intolerant so we gave it up nearly 2 years ago now. We both lost huge amounts of weight too which was a good thing.

Make sure he tries any of the suggested exercise or therapy sessions the nurse/dr give him as something may well help. DH has tried all kinds of stuff but he has a crumbling spine and a neurological disorder too so some just didn't help but some were useful and it ticked boxes when asking for further help.

  • My DH has spine problems too. They kept attributing all his symptoms to that and his previous surgery.
  • Still here, still slogging on. Not done much in the way of surveys this week as been really busy. Have increased my totals slightly and well on track for £300 by Christmas.

    Survey progress:
    Swagbucks £34.67
    Onepoll £13.00
    Prolific academic £13.64
    Populus £4
    Opinion outpost £3.75

    Total - £69.06

Shopping budget keeps going over but have decided to take the YNAB advice of increasing it to be more realistic rather than getting cross with myself and trying to stick to something impossible. So it will be £433pcm/£100pw from now on.

Had a lovely day out with friends yesterday. Lunch at pub followed by room escape game. Spent well within budget as paid for room escape a few months ago and we all only had one course - HUGE portions so no-one had room for pudding. Managed to sink a few pints though

I'm concerned that we will struggle with DDs due to go out this month as have very little money left and lots are due before universal credit comes on 23rd. Child Benefit due on Tuesday though which will cover some of it. May need to visit bank of mum and dad for a 10 day loan. Would rather do that than incur bank charges. I know I keep saying it but it will get hugely easier when we've had our holiday in July.

Off to Aldi in a bit to try and get this week's shop for under £58.74. Wish me luck! :money:
  • Good luck!! Xx
    Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

  • Had to put the cheese back as we normally get the big block for £3.99.

Total shop came in at £55.21 but still need cheese, greaseproof paper and bin bags with the remaining £3.48. Let's face it, that is not going to work.

    followed by room escape game.

If you hadn't escaped you'd lose weight and save money.
  • Have just checked the kitchen and we do not in fact need bin bags or greaseproof paper. DH being alarmist :rotfl:
  • Fred, that is exactly the kind of joined up thinking I like. Will try to be stupider next time :p
  •!!!!ing HSBC. Rang them last month to change a standing order from £30.00 to £44.75. Seems straightforward, no?
So they took £44.75 on 4th June All good.
And they also took £30.00 on the 4th June. Not so good. So I rang the company receiving it. They received £30.00. But not £44.75.
So I rang HSBC. They don't know where the £44.75 has gone. But they'll contact the receiving bank within two working days. But they'll let me know within 20 days. Oh and by the way, if they can't find it tough !!!!, I lose out. Hopefully they will find it. If not they will be hearing from me

The upshot is I now have to find £44.75 to cover the missing payment. I don't have this :(
