  • I still don't know how much debt we are actually in. I really am too scared too look. I will eventually but I just can't at the moment. I think we made need a DMP.

DH has progressed with his PIP form so we will send that off tomorrow. He's really struggled with it, it's been upsetting to watch buy a necessary process.

Money stuff is going really well (apart from the fear). Have stuck to budget and actually have money left at the end of the month. Get paid on Tuesday then Child Benefit on 14th, Universal Credit on 21st. I am starting to put money aside for Christmas and next year's car insurance. Determined to keep going and making small improvements.

So glad the UC came through with no problems. You are doing really well, and if you need to go on a DMP it's no big deal.... just a way to get it all sorted so you can have some control over your life. ((hugs))
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • Thank you. All hugs much appreciated!
  • Still going here. A couple of direct debits i was expecting to go out this month haven't appeared as pending in my bank account yet so they won't go out til I've been paid on Tuesday.

YNAB still going well and making me very aware of all spending.

Going out for dinner before DD's concert tonight and have decided on Wahaca - £50 budget between us so there wasn't much choice.

Had to buy DS1 two new pairs of trainers yesterday as he has grown through the ends of his old ones. He's now a size 9.5. He's only in Y7

Returned some jeans I had bought for DH and bought tights for DD while I was out.

Spends this weekend have felt high but we've been able to cover it. I'm sure there's stuff I've forgotten.

Spends this month have been huge but mostly petrol for holiday and extra groceries for holiday (I don't know why we eat so much more when we're away).

    Anyway, it's done now.
  • Quick update - food lovely, BIL paid. Concert great too.

Sounds like a great night :T Xx
    Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida
  • It really was. Just what we needed after doing the supporting paperwork for the PIP form.
  • Get paid tomorrow. Did all my calculations on £1100 salary and actual amount will be £1190.75 so have made an overpayment of £90.75 :T
  • Current debts that I'm not scared to look at:

    CC1 £1312.50
    CC2 £6354.22
    OD £370

CC1 is on a huge rate of interest so focussing on that to start with. CC1 will stay on minimum payments. Have paid off quite a bit this month and have not gone up to my overdraft limit before pay day :T Does that count as paying it back?

£7666.72 CC debt left to go.

In other words, paid off £233.28/£7900

Actually really pleased with that- if we hadn't been on holiday it would be a lot more.
  • Pay has gone in so I have been updating YNAB. Amazed to see that we have enough money for everything including starting a pot towards Christmas. When child benefit comes in on 14th I will split it between groceries and fuel.

Universal Credit payment on 21st will then be used for our holiday in France in July. I had booked this before DH was so bad in the anticipation of him earning. We're doing a eurocamp type thing with friends which is actually costing less than a week in Wales! We owe £260 and need £180 for eurotunnel. The rest will be reserved for fuel and food. Still have two more UC payments after this before we go so should all be achievable.

I now have the following pots:
    Emergency £30/£1000
    Car maintenance £100/£500
    Car insurance £50/£700

Determined to pay for car insurance up front next time. Will keep building the pots up slowly but surely. Really need to face up to all the other bits we owe. Still, I've made huge progress in less than 5 weeks.
