  • Very sweet of you to say so but the state of my house says otherwise...
  • Just over halfway through my holiday and sticking to the budget. Have just got a message from universal credit and our first payment will be £802. I could weep with relief. Can't wait to allocate it all on YNAB! :j
  • Brilliant news :T Xx
    Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida
  • I feel a bit light headed with relief. And also massively suspicious of it all!

Fingers crossed it all comes through with no problems.
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • Bank account now has a pending transaction for £802.49. I can now believe it's real.

List of financial things to do today:
Move DDs to correct accounts (2 are going from the main account and I want all regular bills nice and tidy!)
    Add new instrument to insurance
Move pots for car maintenance etc to savings account so they're safe
Set up overpayment for credit card with hideously high rate of interest
    More paperwork sorting
Check water payment - hasn't gone out this month (I would never have noticed something like this before)

List of other things to do today:
    Mow lawn
    Cut hedges
    Washing away
    Suitcases into loft
Write presentation for work (not as hard as it sounds!)
    Load dishwasher
    Boys' bedroom

    Enjoy your day everyone
  • Our water payments are over 10 months not 12 too. We start again in May Xx

  • Ooh, maybe it's that. Never even occurred to me! If so then the extra goes to CC1!
  • List of financial things to do today:
Move DDs to correct accounts (2 are going from the main account and I want all regular bills nice and tidy!) - turned out to be one. See next item
Add new instrument to insurance - tried but phone lines closed so will do that and move DD tomorrow
Move pots for car maintenance etc to savings account so they're safe - done
Set up overpayment for credit card with hideously high rate of interest
More paperwork sorting - the box of doom no longer exists. I did 3 hours of scary paperwork.
Check water payment - hasn't gone out this month (I would never have noticed something like this before) - found bill and it is over 10 months.

List of other things to do today:
    Mow lawn - ha.
Cut hedges - did half but decided to reduce the height as DH's health means he now cannot do it and it will be my job forever more
    Washing away - nope.
Suitcases into loft - nope again
Write presentation for work (not as hard as it sounds!) - done
    Load dishwasher - Done
    Boys' bedroom - er no.

I have cleaned out the snail, filled the birdfeeders, made a start on the shed and some other bits and bobs. Bloody knackered now.
  • Next job with paperwork is to get rid of any chaser letters. Think it might all feel more manageable then - why have twenty letters demanding money when one will do? :rotfl:

Also need to ring HMRC but very hard to find a time when the kids aren't earwigging. Might see if I can arrange play dates for them on Saturday morning so I can use that time to make calls.

I still don't know how much we actually owe but I'm definitely more in control. I'm trying not to feel ashamed because that really won't help anything. :(
