Today's achievements:
Have phoned life assurance people and let them know that DH gave up smoking so that premium will reduce.
Did not eat my lunch as I was on a course so had drunk masses of tea and had lots of free biscuits. Not hungry at all by lunch time!
I play an instrument and someone asked me if they could have lessons today. They will pay £20 for 45 minutes and have booked to start after the holiday. My first ever pupil! :T0 -
The way I think about money is completely changing. I'm worried as we can't meet all our commitments this month so will have to borrow from bank of mum and dad. BUT I don't mind as I can see that we haven't wasted a single penny this week and I can clearly see where all the money needs to go. There's a world of difference between asking for a few hundred quid and not knowing where it's going and asking for an exact amount for specific things. I love YNAB!
DH gets paid for his dog walking tomorrow so will add that to the budget and it will cover acouple of unexpected expenses we've had. The rest can cover his vape juice for a couple of weeks.
School breaks up tomorrow (can't wait, I'm exhausted and I work in a school so :j 17 days holiday). We are going away on holiday a week on Saturday with my siblings and their families. Accommodation already paid for, just need to stretch budget for fuel and food. Nothing we have planned will cost much - lots of walking, reading, cooking and board games. We did the same thing last year and hardly spent anything. I need to sit down and do a good food plan though so we don't overspend on that.
Feeling pretty positive at the moment. Started tackling the mountain of scary letters etc yesterday. Will do a bit more in a bit.
Pizza for supper tonight - the new Aldi essentials frozen pizzas are really nice and are 67p each. With garlic bread that's a huge feast for five of us for £4 plus a few bits for toppings. It feels like a huge treat! :rotfl:0 -
Aldi is brilliant! I haven't tried the essentials pizzas, will have to take a look next time I do a shop there. I really like the meat kits they do, the chicken stew is especially delicious.0

Not tried those - we tend to cook everything from scratch.
I've just finished reading your diary btw. You're awesome!0 -
Hello, hope you don't mind me butting in - just been reading your diary and I'm sorry to hear that you're having troubles and slipped back into debt, but I just wanted to say I absolutely love your attitude towards getting it all sorted out! Especially the food planning - I'd like to say I've improved at that, but actually it's just that my OH is super organised and thrifty and tends to do the weekly shop on a Monday morning when I'm at work, so I can't take any credit!
Looking forward to seeing how you get on and wishing you all the best with it!Debt-free wannabe since Jan 2018.

Hi. Just read through a bit of your diary and all i can say is your attitude towards getting this sorted out is great. Good luck to you :T
Quick question on the life assurance. Did they accept your DH vaping as quitting smoking? According to mine vaping is still classed as nicotine replacement so made no difference to my premiums. I may have to shop around again if some do class vaping as quitting. Well done to him for giving up, by the way. It's not easy.Debts 14/6/2019 (LBM 5/3/2019)

I don't know if they do - they're sending him a load of stuff to see if we can make a claim due to his illness. I'm so impressed he's got off his !!!! and sorted it out I haven't wanted to rock the boat.0
