  • Took DD shopping this morning - a task that we both hate!

Managed to get a good selection of stuff that she genuinely likes and all fits well. Tend to weight the family budget towards her needs at the moment as DS1 has supermarket cheapies and DS2 has hand me downs from several sources.

Went to TK Max which she loved as although fairly cheap the quality and cut was much better than she thought it would be. Also got leggings, socks, t shirts, skirts and 2 pairs of shoes from Primark.

Just making a note of what I spent here so I can refer back for future trips:

    Denim shirt: £12.99
    Striped shirt: £14.99
    Jeans: £16.99

    Skater skirt: £3
    Jersey skirt: £3
    Leggings x 2: £6
    Socks: £3
    Star wars T-shirt: £6
    Bowie T-shirt: £8
    Printed leggings: £6
    Batman shoes: £7
    Flip flops: £3

    Parking £3

Pretty pleased - stuck to our list, no impulse buys and didn't even get a coffee while we were out :A

Food budget is not looking good this month. Really worried about how we will cope with rugby tour. Off to have a good look at all the numbers.
  • Click and collect done that should last us the week plus a bit of stock stuff. Came to £61.42.

Just read through your diary - well done on all the changes you have made so far! You have inspired me to delete the takeaway apps from my phone and start looking into recipes I can make cheaply. We have a fairly large chest freezer which is currently full of ready meals. I hope to refill it with tastier, cheaper homemade treats!

  • Dotty if you want any recipes I am happy to oblige - I used to run a cafe and have been cooking from scratch since I was a child. I love tweaking recipes to make them cheaper/healthier.

Today's big money saving news - I cycled to work! My bum feels like someone's been hitting it with a meat tenderiser :rotfl: but that should get better over the next few days. So proud of myself, particularly because it was absolutely teeming with rain when I left.
  • This week's meal plan:

Sunday - roast chicken et al
    Monday - veg lasagne
    Tuesday - chicken fajitas
Wednesday - tuna and egg pie, mash & peas
Thursday - fishcakes & parsley sauce
    Friday - jacket potatoes
Saturday - impose on the in laws!
