Confession time - deep breath.
I have started this second job so there will be a little more money coming in, money which is needed to pay off the debts. So the other night I went online and spent £100 on clothes (reduced in sales), none of which I needed. I have been here a long time and I still slip back into my old habits so easily.
Just done the spreadsheets and I cant afford these clothes but I knew that anyway. They are sitting on my bedroom floor still in their bags so I will parcel them up and send them back. Will I ever learn?0 -
Hi March Money-Watchers,
Thanks for the starter Dawn.
Bit of a grey day today, but a day off nevertheless.
This list will grow as I think of things:
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Ten:
* Cooked sausage alongside this morning's breakfast to go into today's sausage, veg and lentil soup.
* Checked finances. Thank Smurf! I got a refund onto my credit card for OH's £490 camera lens that arrived broken. I'm pleased she decided not to get a replacement for it but to get one that costs £250 instead. In fairness, she has earned the money and a lot of the time she sells her old equipment before buying new so most purchases actually cost about £40, but £490 is a lot of cash. The £250 one should arrive today from Amazon and I'm picking it up from the Locker at work. If you use their Locker collection system you can often get it delivered next day for free or for £1.99 if you don't have Prime which can be cheaper than getting it sent to your house. (Link)
* Alarm clock turned off at the wall til tonight. I refuse to power an appliance when not in use.
* Looked at Screwfix special offer. I logged into their website and ordered a catalogue. They then emailed me a code for £5 off Screwfix with no minimum spend. With that I can get some superglue, some sealant and some cuphooks for nothing if I collect from town.

* OH is making pickled eggs. Removed the shells quickly using the rolling method. Her recipe is simple: Hard boil eggs. Remove shell. Clean airtight jars. Put vinegar in jar. Add eggs. Leave for two weeks.
* Continue to use free App which plays my mobile phone ring tone when the battery has fully charged. I use Battery 100% Alarm by Appeteria from Google Play. We also have it installed on our Kindles. (Link)
What about you folks?

We're not here to judge.
The law gives you seven working days from the day after you receive your goods to make the return. If any of it is underwear you don't automatically have this right but the company may allow you to return it.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Morning all
Finally, the sun is out and for the first time in goodness knows how long I haven't had to put the heating on this morning. It makes a world of difference to my mood...
Bit of a restless night last night - I seem to have this constant nagging headache that just won't go. As it was only relieved by paracetamol I thought it might be a dependency headache but I had to give up at 3am when I woke up with my head banging. Took 2 paracetamol.
So, the weekend list...
:cheesy: check banking and PAD
:cheesy: DS already at football with DH
:cheesy: Hoover through
:cheesy: load of washing
:cheesy: date night tonight with DH - need to find somewhere to go
:cheesy: get DS to gymnastics
:cheesy: meal planning for next week
:cheesy: bit of crochet
:cheesy: stay hydrated in case this is causing the headaches
Have a good day everyone! Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hey Yorkshirelass - I know that urge soooooooooo well!! Sometimes rather than trying to stop myself spending I turn it into a low-spend challenge - see what I can buy for under £10 or something like that. Usually it does the trick - I get over the urge and I haven't broken the bank. In the past I've had 'spend £1 a day'/£5 Monday treat... It has worked for me.
My advice for today would be to parcel up and send back everything you can't afford and then take just £5 cash and go buy something that you love - for me it would be something like a nice candle, a book, notepad, pen, posh bubble bath, scarf, new socks, posh chocolates.... and then enjoy the spending!
