Yep, thriftlady
Double cream is up to 71p for 284ml (I make my own ice cream, so I noticed it when I went to get some more). This has gone up from 40-something pence. I think it was 46, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes - I've been into Lidl today and their butter is still 53p - so bought a few to stock up for the next couple of weeks.

In the past few months my Heritage butter has gone from 57p to 65p and this week up again to 79p
As for other foodstuffs, I have bought a pine storage cupboard and have been buying pasta etc in bulk when bogoff. I also have a second fridge where I store my flour. We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Re: tesco value butter
Just got back from Tesco the price of value butter has gone up again (twice in one week) it is now 70p in my local tesco. How can they justify 2 increases in less than a week.0 -

They don't have to justify it. They can charge anything they like. If you don't buy it - then they will reduce the price again."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I have an old 'Good Housekeeping' book and lots of the recipes use lard and dripping - even for cakes. I think I'll be having a good look through. certainly from now on I'll be using lard in pastry.0

Does anyone know if the price of Morrison's own brand butter (not the Bettabuy) has increased please?
If so, I will take a trip to Lidl's first.
Thanks.
