Thanks OP, ordered two dvds I'd enjoyed on tv but didn't know were out on dvd! The Mimic and Wallace and Gromit's World of Inventions. Not a lot off but no postage!0

Just got a cancellation e-mail saying some of my items are out of stock due to high demand etc. However it doesn't say which items! It also says if payment has been taken a refund will be made which will take up to 21 days !!!!
I got the same email, would be nice to know which items are missing. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Don't get too excited about this as cancellations are now starting for orders placed a few days ago.:(Just got a cancellation e-mail saying some of my items are out of stock due to high demand etc. However it doesn't say which items! Yes, just got an email to say I've got items that have been cancelled, I bet they are the Doctor Who books as they are no longer showing on the books page, they were the things I was most looking forward to having.0 -

I also received the same email for 2 of my 3 orders
That's ridiculous behaviour from the BBC. It's not difficult to keep accurate stock levels with online shops.0 -
I too have just had the cancellation e-mail, but as the order only contained one item and I had an e-mail two days ago saying the item had been dispatched, the chaos is clearly pretty extreme!0

Checked my account on BBC and most of it says released for delivery, only 1 is saying back orderedThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Unfortunately 'released for delivery' isn't as good as it sounds - fingers crossed you might get some of the items, but not very likely when the stock control is so hopeless.0 -
If you actually read the website it states
"BBC Worldwide is a commercial company that is owned by the BBC (and just the BBC).
No money from the licence fee was used to create this website."
Any profit made by BBC Worldwide is put back into the BBC, therefore making the license fee LOWER.
In 2014/15, BBC Worldwide generated headline profits of £138.6m and headline sales of £1,001.8m and returned £226.5m to the BBC.
It does seem strange they are closing the shop, maybe it is just costing them too much to run for the amount of internet traffic it gets.
I gather that BBC Worldwide have decided to close the shop due to declining sales of DVDs - one of the major money earners for them.0 -
Got the cancellation email, too. I suspect that all my cool stuff will be missing but my daughter will be over the moon with all the reduced price study guides that are bound to be in there!:rotfl:0

It's messed up when they can't even tell you what is missing from your order. I looked at my order status on their site and clicked on all the blue links. Looks like a Sherlock and a Doctor Who book won't be making itBlessed are the vegetarians.0
