OMG. It sounds fab although stressful to organise. It will be raining here I am just imagining how sunny it will be over there.

Nearly got everything big booked for the wedding, want to do it as far in advance so we know how much money we have to pay. I don't plan on going into debt for the wedding, I want it all paid off before the day.

Venue: £3000 (price may vary when we finalise numbers), includes drinks, accommodation for night, DJ, use of rooms, meal and buffet. Also a few other things

    Registrar: £340

    Photographer: £720

    Piper: £200

So a total of £4260. (£200 already paid in deposits)
Leaving me £1740 to get: invitations, favours, dresses for me, my sister and M, kilt hire, cake, flowers, hair & make up and table decorations!
  • You can easily manage all the rest for that price.

I got our invitations on vistaprint, weren't the fanciest things ever but they were lovely.

We got our table centrepieces on gumtree & ebay.

Flowers we bought artificial roses from ebay.

Weather is gorgeous in Hampshire. Birds are tweeting. Yay.

Its pouring it down up here in Scotland, its rubbish!

I was going to print my invitations off of visaprint and then jazz them up a little bit to suit of colour scheme but keeping them cheap!
  • Oooooh I'm in sunny Scotland too!

We loved our invites, didn't even bother to jazz ours up.

    The cheaper the better ha!

Wee bargain hunters that we are.

I'm trying to be realistic. I want to make my own cake but I know I'll crumble under the pressure and end up with nothing! Looking into cakes and it seems I'll be around £200 for a cake so not too bad!

Not money saving related but my mental health related. I had a break down at work last week and I went to the doctors and I've been diagnosed with depression. A week on and I'm glad I have finally gotten help. Hopefully I can start to get my life back together.

Due to my slipping mental health, recently my housework has stopped and the place is cluttered and dirty. I hope to get it back up to a good standard. I want to have the place decluttered and clean before our holiday in 7 weeks. Gives me plenty of time to fix everything out :)
  • Glad you are getting the support you need, you will get caught up with it all then be ready for your holibags.

Been paid today woo... I miss the days when I lived at home and got paid more than I get paid now and that money was 100% mine, no bills except for my mobile to pay for. I'm not even sure what I spent it on! Most of this money will be budgeted for. I always give myself a little allowance for 'whatever I want' money each month, normally like 30/40 quid.
Normally ends up being on chocolate *hides face*

Time to draw up the budget and update my totals!

:grouphug:I am so sorry about the depression hopefully your treatment will kick in soon. My advice is to focus on 'you' time and try to relax and go for a walk or watch a nice telly programme everyday or eat something nice. It's good to treat yourself everyday as a reward and I think chocolate is fine!!!!!
