Morning all
Sun is shining here, washing in machine. Just walked into DS1s bedroom to see his bed empty and found him hard fast asleep on the sofa downstairs. No idea why.
I had a busy day yesterday so I am going to try and chill out a bit today. Must do a mealplan.
We had an office chair that we longer needed so I put it on ebay and sold it yesterday for £8, quite happy with that. Just realised that I have sold it to someone in Sri Lanka and its collection only!!! Did they really think I would post it? Or maybe they are visiting the UK and going to take it back in their hand luggage? Very strange.0 -
Good morning all
Well, I waited in bed for my promised breakfast and cup of tea, which obviously didn't arrive. Match of the day was on telly so how on Earth could I expect ds to remember that he'd promised that? :rotfl:
Business as usual for me today, I seriously doubt anything much will happen in terms of Mother's Day. I have to confess to being quite relaxed about the idea of not having to go into work tomorrow though, but have woken with a bit of a fuzzy head.
:grinheart Update banking and PAD
:grinheart Tutoring
:grinheart Sort out money for dd's leaver's ball (she is 11 for goodness sakes)
:grinheart NSD apart from petrol
:grinheart maybe go out for dinner later this afternoon if the kids and dh want to (I don't mind but if they want to take me out...)
:grinheart No housework at all
:grinheart maybe finish crocheting the cat bed I'm on with
:grinheart send in my cover work for the week ahead

Morning All
CCL - isn't it crazy all the things schools do now. My son is leaving his infants school this summer and they have a leavers sweat shirt with all their class names on it to purchase if they want to! Which of course they all do because the school have hyped it up. He also had a graduation ceremony from his nursery for goodness sake! When it comes time to do all the important real things like real graduation how will the kids ever feel that sense of importance if they make every time they move a ' moment' gah!
And on that note, hello everyone I am not really grumpy this morning I promise

Morning guys  Happy Mothering Sunday/Family day to you all
this is a difficult day as dgd is very confused about her family dynamics this week - so much focus on mommy's day has left her asking me if I'm her Mummy
so from now on it's family day
Very proud of myself finally plucked up the courage this morning to sort out my cc statement & paid it  have had to pay for our flights to Brasil so it was expensive and lots of fiddly payments. But it's done now :j and I still have £80 left for the next 2 weeks
Also looked into tax returns as woke up panicking I had to do my return for the msing before going on holiday in 2 week  thankfully that's for the previous year! So have got a bit extra time!
* Hopefully NSD today - shouldn't need anything and working 12-5 so that should keep me out of spending's way
* dug out weekly shop receipt and highlighted about £6 worth of food to submit to PSL company (dealing with all my tax etc as am temping am SE). Also have saved receipt for the petrol as can claim relief of mileage to and from work
* Load of washing in machine now & will hang up before work
* Have big bowl of porridge in a but and that should tide me over until I finish work
* start master's application - Foxgloves my degree was in social sciences & business so I need to do a masters conversion before applying to do the doctorate
* prepare bags, clothes & lunches for tomorrow (might make Tuesday's as well to save some time
* work out what will be for dinner tomorrow and get it out/prepared tonight
Not sure how returning to work & travelling will be after 9 months off  we'll see, excited and nervous all at the same time!DF as at 30/12/16

Hi guys
We decided to stay in last night - is quite easy with the tv being good so was quite happy to lounge on the sofa and keep my £££s in my pocket...
Going out a big dog walk this morning and then teaching this evening - so another NSD I imagine.
Need to get the WM on - didn't do any yesterday...
Also need to reconcile my cash situ - YNAB tells me I have £100 in cash so I'm off to find it!
Food from stores - cheapo porridge brekkie, HM soup for lunch, YS chicken for dinner
Biz bits and pieces - updated listings etc.
Right, catch up soon!

Not a good start to the morning....bought OH's camera lens from a company called MPB Photographic for about £450 last week on the credit card to get extra consumer protection. Paid off the debt instantly.....or so I thought...
Firstly the lens has to go back because it doesn't work and secondly I have just discovered the transaction has gone through three times. While both problems can be fixed it's not a good start to the day! Good job we don't need to use the £900 credit on the card that is now unavailable to us!
I'm going for a long walk.

Gosh Ally I can't believe they put it through 3 times that is ridiculous!!
Determined - I'm interested to read that on the fuel front. My accountant back when I had a car said claiming petrol unless I had a company van/seperate vehicle from family was dubious and I shouldn't do it. I wonder if the advice has changed now or if it's just a peculiar thing he thinks?
Ziggy - thank you. And I hope today has been good for you too.

We had a lovely meal out last night that only came to £20 with drinks. I was bought 2 glasses of wine too

Today wasn't a NSD as I got Grandad's birthday voucher and food bits for the week. I also treated OH to a coffee in town but got some loyalty stamps
We went into a suit shop as OH still needs to sort one out for the wedding. He got measured and we enquired about a lovely suit he saw months ago but the lady serving us at the time said it didn't go up to his size. It turns out it does and the lovely lad has ordered it from the store in Glasgow, so it'll be here late next week! We are so chuffed as OH hadn't seen one he liked nearly as much as this. It is also £55 under budget so he'll only need to buy a tie as he has a white shirt he can wear
Just housework to do now. We're going to be healthy and have salad for tea :A02 0% £719.20 £434.48

Hi all! Yesterday was lots of packing and decluttering ready for this mornings car boot sale- first of the season and bitingly cold at 630am in the field it worth it- cleared numerous boxes of clutter and pocketed £63 after the fees and petrol ;-)
Also friends baffled a few pieces from the clutter pile so additional £7!
The rest of the day has been a lounging with tv kind of day, which has been lovely as they darling gf was away practically all week with work! Good to have her smily face around- makes the days much brighter
Enjoy the rest of your Mother's Day to all those mums!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0
